Went to fill up today and after getting about .45 cents in the pump stopped. Tried it a couple more times and it just kept on stopping. Gas was getting in to my tank but just slowly. Tried a different pump with the same results.

I am guessing (wild guess) someone may have put something in my tank. Is there anything else it could be? I will look under the truck tonight to see if the hose is kinked. Just looking to see if there is something else it could be.

We have had a lot of rain the last couple of days (tornado touched down in a target shopping center by my dads house), and I have had to go through some deep water. Wouldn't think that could of caused a problem but it is the only thing out of the norm that I have done lately.

when my truck gets low sometimes it does that not honestly sure why once its about half full it stops doing it. i have checked the hoses everything else and cant find anything. all i can figure is somewhere a line gets slightly pinched when some of the weight is off the tank but other than that no idea

That was probably the problem then... I took this picture as I was pulling into the gas station:

Looks like I will be spending a while at the pump. I was worried that if something was lodged in to the hose I did not want to push it into the tank.

its some sort of back flow device...keeps gas from leaking out if truck flips over...mine sticks if i ever get really low on fuel...there is a name for the device i just dont know what it is

Filler Neck Backflow Valve.

My guess is it's air in the tank...nothing to worry about at all.
What he said...had the same thing happen to me, the gas-station attn. told me the story about air in the tank.......

Quick

If the problem continues check your vent tube or hose near the top of the filler tube, if it gets kinked or blocked the bitch will take forever to fill.

I just made that up!

Oh shit that was funny Roz!!!!!!:D

So some of you fellas have had the same problem when you ran your tank down to almost dry correct? Well the smart ass answer would be to not run down the tank past a quarter tank (have heard this before) but that doesnt help you out now.

How about putting gas into a gan can then pouring it into the truck....get a few gallons in there....... then maybe that will clear the weird error your getting with your overflow safty valve thingy!:dontknow:

If you need to replace have Keven do a DIY.
Mine was covered under warranty. RC and QC use the same one but the pressure setting must be changed.

Spent about 25 minutes filling up my tank last week and today I finally got to about 1/4 of a tank left and stopped at the gas station. It still is clicking within a few seconds of trying to pump gas. I am probably going to schedule an appointment at the dealership to see what the problem is :dontknow: . Any other suggestions before I take it in?

No problem here on my 06 qc she drinks just fine if i could get her to put out it would br fine.

try filling it with it running. that may help. it did on every car i tried it on. here in jersey we have people pump our gas. its illegal to pump your own. i was one of the "stupid uneducated kids" pumping the gas. we get made fun of, but hey for 12.50 a hour part time on weekends its nice :D. try that and let me know the outcome

Only problem I have filling up is signing all the mortgage papers...:smokin:

Oh shit!!!

Since you put it that way, I've spent almost $4k in gas this year!!!!!

I average 12MPG. RC's have roughly a 25 gallon tank, right? 12 x 25 = 300. I get 300 miles to a tank of gas. I've got 15k miles on the truck. 15,000/300 = 50. Gas has averaged around $3.00 gal. $3.00 X 25 = $75. $75 x 50 tanks = $3,750.

That's just a fkn average!!!!

Talk about a fuel slut! :D :D
