quitting smoking

Man, I have tried so many times to quit smoking. I have cut way back. Down to a few a day, unless I'm drinking. I've been smoking for 30+ years, and I've "quit" a bunch of times. It's hard, real hard.

Talk about something that should be outlawed. The only value that tobacco has is that it makes some people very rich. But it sure is evidence that for all the talk about looking out for you, the gov is less interested in your health than they are some pockets down in tobacco country. They don't want me smoking weed because "it is no good for me", but they have no problem with millions picking up a nice case of lung cancer or emphysema from this shit.

Anyway, off the soap box hehe. Good luck Stink.

LOLOLOL Django you are correct , I think the best thing to do is jsut lay them down:rock:

one of my biggest probs is in the rig, your in there for so many freakin miles you jsut get bored.

and congrats Griff maybe we can make this a support thread:p

gosh I'm gonna be ill:D

Tony, go to the Doc and get on Chantix. It works really well... a lot of my family members have kicked the habit with it. I used it and it worked great, I quit for 4 months and thought I was strong enough to abstain from tobacco without it. I was proved wrong with just one smoke and I'm now getting back on the meds.

After years of smoking I just decided I was done one day and that was it. I know it was all mental. I had no doubts about it. I was 100% done. I don't know how you can make that happen. I don't think you can force it. Like anything, it's in the mind. Whether you think you can or you can't...you're right. Best of luck to you though luck is not part of the equation. I wish you the best.

Best wishes for you Tony. I'm a social smoker. I haven't smoked since I left PCB. I probably won't puff again 'till Macon, but I'll be strong for you and just stop. Greg's next.

Go for it Tony...need to quit the damn things myself --i've been on and off for almost 30 years....was up to almost 4 packs a day 9 years ago...down to 1 pack or less a day know and ultra lights.....I also only smoke in between jobs and when I'm not doing something or staying busy....Time for the Larry Hagman stop smoking wrist band ...

I'm pulling for you Tony. Hope you can kick it. Tell you what, next GTG if your still , I'll slap you up side the head. Just trying to help buddy.:D

Quitting is never easy, but your health is far more important.

Bill.

Stink, ManPurdy and myself are thinking of quitting too, do you think we need to get a bet going???:D :D :D

No advice from me Stinky. I have never smoked, and never even tried one. Both of my parents smoked and so did my brother who was 7 years older than me. Hated the habit.

All I can do is wish you all the luck in the world. But then I don't think you will need it. I think you are strong enough to do it on your own.
