Riding a Harley is a far different experience than being on a 2 wheeled missile like those you've described....I believe that you're personal safety concerns are well founded. Cruising to the awesome rumble of your Harley with the view and the wind on your face is relaxing experience compared to a hot sport bike....
I've ridden major league muscle bikes and crotch rockets for over 40 yrs.... These things make you focus on managing the power, direction, wind sheer and other factors... Not to mention the other traffic and people who have their thumbs up their asses all around you... Then there's the police.
The minute you don't pay full attention on one of these superbikes, you are vulnerable to injury..... Also consider the highly addictive intoxication of rapid excelleration... These bikes go so fast so quickly that the excelleration becomes immediately addictive.... Every time you pull the trigger, you wanna rev it up further.... getting up to 185-90 on a bike is like walking on the moon.... It's awesome.... But it'll kill you, too....
Yer smart to stay with a relaxing ride rather than setting your hair on fire.....
But the only way yer really gonna know is to ride all these bikes and see which one speaks to you.... Your body needs to be "fitted" to the bike... Body size, reach, leg lengths, trunk...all contribute to a good fit between you and any sport bike.....Go ride 'em and see what your body says.....
Take one out and wind her up.... Who knows...? You may be addicted straight away..... Or it may be so powerfully overwhelming that you nearly shit yerself up....
Only you can be the judge of this thing.....
Good luck and God bless....
