Has anyone ever stripped out the coolant drain petcock on their radiator before? Not sure how I managed to do it it as it was easy going coming out and now it won't screw back in.

:( hate it when simple jobs turn into a challenge.

maybe call the dodge house or a raditor shop 1st thing in the A of M????

Roe & Stinker are workin on a real nice aluminum raditor:rock::rock::rock:

Tell me about it, I did some searching on the diesel forums as the radiator in our trucks are the same as the ones used in the cummins rams and from what I can see pulling like hell as you tighten it should solve the problem. I'll have to get under there again tomorrow and give it another shot.

Mine was starting to do it when i flushed it. I managed to get it in, and i watched it closely for leaks over the next few days. It didnt leak but man i was glad there wasnt another scheduled maintenance on it for a while!

I had the same issue with mine too. I kept trying and it did finally thread it self back in. I spent about an hour Fighting it though.

Dang, sucks to be the tech's doing this, its kinda hard to meet flat rate when this crap happens. 30 minute coolant changes turns into a 2 hour deal and possible radiator replacement.

not likely stripped, just the nut/clip fell off on the inside from turning too many times..... pull the petcock out, the nut is likely loose inside the radiator.

been there/done that myself on my YF....... took a somewhat simple t-stat swap into an all day affair because i had to remove the radiator to get the nut/clip back out...... it just snaps back into place & just a very few turns to tighten/loosen up....

Yep happened to me. Put on a pair of mechanics gloves, pulled the the "T" nut real hard and it finally screwed in. Good luck.
