Well me and the buddy went out last night and were playing around on a nice stretch of highway all by ourselves. I talked to vnmpowered after the race and learned that i suck at shifting and have to work on it. I cant dump the clutch else i get bad wheel hop but let it out pretty quick so it was borderline to hopping and it was almost neck and neck until i missed 3 and 4. He is one up. Next race. I launch a little better and have a slight jump on him. I hit 2 and am still winning. I hit 3 and he gains a little more, i hit 4 and he is even, i hit 5 and starts to slowly pull up to 110mph. hes up 2 now:) Went again i pulled on him and he quit cuz he was scared of a bump in the road. Then we did 1 rolling start @ 40mph and i was in 2nd gear, and i beat him up to 130mph. We had a blast. Laughing our asses off and enjoying these sweet machines. I guess im ordering a new BM shifter, caltracs and am taking the truck to a suspension guy to check everything out. Cant wait to get the new parts and throw them in and try the jeep again:) Ill post some vids and pics the next time we go out and play:)

get a flash and deleate them cats and it really wakes these trucks up

yes i'v raced my buddys srt8 jeep it's no where near stock...an let me tell ya... it was quick with just intake he ran a 12.79 bone stock... i love the jeeps

Sounds like you are short shifting your truck, (shifting too soon).

You should not be into 5th untill approx 114-115 MPH.

Most trucks run best when shifted at about 5600 RPM.

Most of us have a Raptor shift light, and shift off of that, rather than the tachometer as the tach does not keep up with the true motor RPM's

What he said.. I am interested to see the results when you upgrade the shifter tho...

Suprised you took him off the line...those Jeeps launch like MOFOs....not surprised you pulled him from 40mph...

Launch like MOFO's is an understatement. I have a couple buddies here around H-Town that have 'em. I am guessing if I lined one up with my 300C the JeepGC will definately take me off the line with its massive launch capabilites... BUT, that 300 will likely catch up really soon and pass.. One of these days we'll find out for sure.

My experience (both stock) has been the 300/Charger/Magnum SRT8s will start to catch up about the 1/8...the Jeep has the advantage off line with all-wheel drive and a 3.7X rear gear but it weighs ~500lbs more and like our trucks, pushes air.......but the race is close enough that anything could give the win to the other..
