Ran a crotch rocket tonite.

I appreciate you adding your expert opinion to the discussion Gary.

It is unfortunate that these guys have even less respect for the good sense of their forum family than they do for the truth...... Any mature, self respecting individual with an even rudamentary knowledge of power to weight ratios would know better than to make such a feckless claim.

The temerity (look it up) of these little twits is without peer........

If "Steady" Eddie Lawson (himslef) told them they were FOS, they'd probably argue with him too.......

After reading the very beginning of this thread I posted my comment (#23) and left it at that. Upon coming back I am compelled to wonder why is it that I feel like I am being called a liar? I don’t know about any other claims that are made here about bikes, crotchrockets, or whatever they are refered to as. But this is the second time I mentioned something here that I saw with my own eyes and I feel like I’ve been looked at as if I don't know what I am talking about. I said it before; if it didn't happen I would NOT be here saying it. I have no problem with admitting when I get stomped. In this case; however, I didn't really comprehend the outcome myself so I suggested the driver of the bike had to be scared to take his speed up that high. I am quite aware I would have been at the receiving end of a kill had he been brave enough to exceed 125 mph. I THOUGHT by adding that I would show my modesty but as before that part wasn't acknowledged. Come to think of it, I didn’t even claim it as being a kill. I just said I left him behind. That could very well mean he wasn’t even trying. SO WHAT? I don't race much at all, but when the opportunity arises for something unusual to take place on the road I enjoy coming here and sharing it whether or not I am the victor. There's no need to impugn someone's honor just because you don't believe it.

Okay, I've been around a long time (both sites--what a trip!), but keep to myself. This whole thing, while entertaining, is just too patently absurd. I had a kid challenge me with a crotch rocket.

I said, "I don't race bikes."

"Why not?"

"Because I'll lose."

simple....and to the point..............:D

Anthony,

Bro this has nothing at all to do with your post..... Please don't be offended....

According to your account, you had a guy on a bike who simply couldn't handle the wind or other factors over 125 mph and just got out of it... Fine.

The issue here is that someone is claiming that he has defied the laws of nature and accomplished the supernatural feat of shutting down a 600cc crotch rocket in a legitimate (albeit on the street) 440 yd drag race....

No one is calling you a liar my friend.............

Wailing down the freeway for 1/2 mile or a mile and getting up to 140 miles an hour while catching up to (and passing) a 600cc bike who already got "out of it" for reasons of excessive wind sheer (or the like) is a vastly different thing than beating a guy in a 1/4 mile race....

Now if what Venomous is describing is one of those mile long freeway scenarios that I just described..... Ok fine..... But I fail to see how that's really a kill...............let alone something to brag about.

Hell, a guy in a big ass '59 Cadillac could probably make the same claim....

I once freeway raced a guy on a brand new Yamaha R1.... ( purdee blue too)
I was on my old ZX11... We both took off from 100mph (start......woohoo!!) and wound 'em up tight. All I could see was this guy getting smaller in my mirror.

That doesn't mean my bike is faster.... The R1 has alot more ponies and is way over 100lbs lighter. But his fairing sits very.....so low that at 150+ mph he's literally being blown off the bike. Especially if a guy is larger in the trunk of his body.

His bike isn't made to sit at high speeds for long periods of time. The wind just sucks you off the bike.....The ZX11 will hide you almost completely from the wind..... even if it does weigh 560lbs.....

THIS DOESN'T CONSTITUTE A KILL........The R1 is much faster than the ZX11.... There's no comparison....

Just trying to clear this up.....

Okay SD I'm glad you responded. I know my account doesn't constitute as a kill, the guy was definately scared. I just wanted to make sure it was clear to everyone here that I wasn't bragging. 600 or whatever, it doesn't matter what he was driving, I would have been stomped if the driver didn't care about his life. Since he didn't I consider him smart and mature... My hat's off to him. I can say for sure there have been plenty times where I saw a bike pull away from me on the freeway as if I were standing still. What else should I expect? I don't know details about bikes, I just know they're extremely fast compared to a production automobile. So, I'm not taking offense, at least not until someone made it official that I ought to be offended. But seems that didn't occur so I'll shut up about it now.

Now to YOU Wifey. Hello. Before you start on me I already know I should be on here much more often. Shame on me. I'm not dodging the forum.. HAHAHA dodging, I made a funny (no pun intended).
