Raped Ape!!!!

I od not know what a raped ape really runs like, but with 47,000 miles I decided to change my plugs, went with the stock ones, all i can say is damn i should have done this sooner, i thought it was running fine untill i did this, now i do not have to push the go fast pedal as hard and it seems to shift better, i was only getting around 7mpgs i bet it will get better now!!!It doesnt surge like before and sounds soooo much smoother also!! It runs like a raped ape now i remember why i bought this truck after only one test drive.:D :rock:
 
now add 2 fl.ounces of 100% acetone to every 10 gallons of 93 octane....;)

Like water has an adhesion surface. (You can pour a glass of water higher than the top of the glass). Gasoline does too. Acetone is suppose to break that adhesion making it spray finer.

Wow! I just read through that whole thread, and I just couldn't resist. Wife had a bottle of 100% acestone and through some in the tank. We'll see what happens

maybe u had a loose plug wire before you changed them ....lol good to hear ya got it runnin like raped ape ??????? lol :D :D

At 47K his plugs were probably a bit dirty and the gap could have been out of spec causing him not to have the spark he should. He might have seen a similar improvement with a good cleaning and a re-gap.

We use to do that all the time with aircraft plugs. Stick them in a plug sandblaster to clean the crud out and check that they were in spec and put them back in. Ran good as new.
 
Its only $21.00 for stock plugs, much easier than cleaning, best thing i have done so far, think i will start doing this once a year!!:rock:

I wasn't suggesting anyone cleans them. Just sayin' that had you, you probably would have seen a difference in performance too. For $21 bucks, you made the right decision.:congrats:

Aircraft plugs are $25 bucks each and there are two per cylinder.

Totally agree....going thru the trouble to change I aint goint to clean to save $20................
