I have had a rattle in the shifter lever since my rc was new. The shifter is stock. It is only noticable in 2nd and 4th gears. It doesn't sound like the transmission at all. Maybe the shifter contacting the console?

Have any of you had this problem? Any ideas?

Thanks for the help.

Did you buy it new?:dontknow:

If you bought it used, it's possible the prior owner removed the rubber isolator.

Rmove the console & Boot, make sure everything is tight. When I had the stocker, like a zillion years ago, it worked it's way loose at the base.

Also make sure the little lock nut on the shifter ball isn't loose, this will rattle also!!

Yes, I did buy it new. As I recall the rattle has always been there but sometimes it seems more noticable. It is still under warranty but I really hesitate to have the dealer not fix this and create 2 or 3 more problems!

Remove the console, very easy, under the pads there are one in each cup holder, and two in the coin part, remove and pull up the console.

Make sure all bolts are tight, if so remove bolts , put a rubber insulator between the shifter handle and base, then wrap with either electrical tape or the tape used on tennis rackets, and wrap it tightly.\

Replace console and make sure there is no contact, and try.

I never have removed my console. I just remove the boot and have all the access I need.

Ditto. Your not the only one who stripped those bolts. Then you can't get them tight and they rattle. I ended up removing the blind nuts and installing lock nuts on the underside of the console. It's easier to just remove the three self tappers holding the console down then the 57 little allen head bolts holding the shifter boot.
