I wasn't really happy with the set up of my gauges. I just didn't like that I had 3 different types on the truck (the stock oil temp guage on the pillar, and an Autometer boost and an AEM A/F meter on the steering column). So I ended up buying an Autometer fuel presure gauge to match the boost that I already had and relocated the AEM A/F meter to the pillar. All I can say is it looks tons better. I did remove the stocker oil temp gauge. Here are some pics. Sorry for the shity camera phone pics.

Hey Alex, where abouts did you connect the fuel pressure gauge under the hood? is it eclectronic sensor in the fuel rail? Thanks in advance for the info, the gauges look great too, nice work!;)

not bad, i had the mickey mouse ears on my old vw, i loved them.

Those steering column pods are sweet... Your setup looks good.

Looks great Alex. ..we both had a similiar idea...I dumped my oil temp guage and put the 3 guages (boost, FP, AF) in the piller. IMO the oil temp guage is the least desired...........question..your boost guage reads neg #s when the engine is off...mine goes to zero...wonder why the diff?:dontknow:

is yours before the throttle plate? that would be one reason, the other is perhaps yours does not go negative? the truck would not idle if there was no vacuum in the intake manifold.

I am talking engine off....Alex's engine appears not to be running according to the other guages...

Last we spoke, he was taping off of the threaded port on the fuel rail. You could do that or get the adaptor from Tony, that attaches to the back of the fuel rail. That one is very easy to install also.

that looks good. Is the steering column pod cover just a cover or does it replace the top steering coumn cover?

To all of you that gave me props thanks. Wow I didn't think this thread would yield so many questions from you guys. Here are all of your answers for all of you that asked questions.

The gauge is Model 4371 it has a sensor that you need to tie in to the fuel line. I connected it right at the fuel rail using a 4an female to 1/8 NTP connector, then to a 90 degree 1/8 NTP female on both ends to the sensor. It was really easy to do. Just need to remove the shredder valve from the fuel rail to make it work. Completed the entire install in a couple of hours in my driveway on Saturday. I wish I would have done it sooner. The gauge is electric has a warning feature that warns you if your fuel presure drops below a certain level that you set. It also tells you your peak presure by press the other button in the bottom.

My boost gauge is electric uses a map sensor it's Model 4376. It stays put when I turn off the truck, and then it cycles when I start the truck. The same with the fuel presure. I got this gauge over the mechanical ones cause they have a couple of nice features. Such as a warning light that you can program to turn on when you reach a certain boost level (I really use it as a shift light... shhh don't tell anyone ;) ), and it also gives me peak boost level reading as well.

Alex, you get the boost a pump in yet?

Nope not yet. I haven't really taken her out yet and really studied the fuel presure other than a lap around the block. Been really busy with my kids since the wife is out of town, but from the lap around the block fuel presure kicked up to almost 80 psi to about 4500 rpm. So now I'm not sure that I'm going to need the boost a pump. Probably take it over to Doug Levin's this week and have him take a look at it and see what he thinks.

Its just a pod cover the goes right over the steering column. Very easy install with double sided tape to keep it nice and tight, but not required it stays in place pretty good without it.

Some of you had questions on where I installed the fuel presure senor, and how I connected it so I took a pic. Before any of you start making the comments... I know, I know I need to clean up the engine.

No problem, glad I could help out. And yes Santeen is using Stink's fitting that T's off at the rear of the other fuel rail. I sure that he can take a pic and post it for those that are interested.
