Reaching the Back

How do you reach the back of the Engine bay ? I am at novice mechanic, but I would like to think I can do things like tighten valve cover bolts, replace spark plugs and wires, etc...

However this motor is very hard to reach in places, especially the back. I was thinking of training a spider monkey to get back there, what do you guys use ?

Very long arms.... and sit inside the engine bay with the motor. It's easier that way!

Spider monkeys are messy and they cost money to feed...

I weigh about 160 so i just put a foam pad and kneel on the intake manifold. Usually how I work on the X5's at the shop
