Had a slight accident and backed into a big yellow concrete structure in a parking lot on my way to a show today, go figure!!!! The hitch and steel step pad that were on the truck saved the cover from having to be replaced, a little bit of work and repaint and that will be ok. The actual bumper underneath the cover just looks like a standard black painted ram bumper, am I right on this?? Because if that is the case its not worth repairing the damage I will just replace the bumper. Thanks for any info, I will be removing the bumper tomorrow and bringing it to a buddies salvage yard to match one up, paint it and install it...... This really sucks, only had this truck 3 months and I'm the ONE that screwed it up, live and learn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, it looks like replacement ones have the holes on top but may need the 2 on the ends drilled. I may be able to get a used one for free.... if not I found new for under $200 shipped.

Pics of damage to cover, should be able to be fixed and painted. Not as bad as i thought when it happened(stainless step pad(removed) and metal bumper took the brunt of it)P1010016.JPG

Several years ago when I installed back up bumper sensors, a lot of people here said they aren't needed....my $.02

While you have it apart, now is a good time to paint the license plate light housings to match the bumper instead of the black plastic.

Will do, also I was able to repair the OE bumper at my buddies shop this morning(he talked me into it...) Amazing what the right hammers, wood blocks and a torch can do. Its not 100% but close seeing it will be covered anyway. Just got done sanding, grinding and painting and it came out pretty good. Also dropped off the cover to a recommended shop that does high end cars and classic show cars, the owners car is a 650hp 1969 camaro, it is beautiful. Told me 250-350, have to heat and reshape where I hit it and a few other spots that were already there and paint and clear the whole piece, be done in 2-3 days. Here are pics of the bumper.....P1010001.JPG
