rear shackles

has anyone out there leveled there '04 RC using rear shackles????? seems like this would be a cost effective way to drop the rear of the truck!!!! i know i used shackles to lower my other two lightnings i used to have before i stepped up to the "ultimate" sport truck!!!! any input positive or negative would be greatly appreciated!!!!

I have shackles on my Volvo...I hate it every time I see them...it's kind of like having (do any of you remember?) porterwalls to simulated white side wall tires...

I attempted going the shackles route. Doesn't work for the RC. They come in contact with the frame and limit spring movement. Blocks is the best way to go if your just going to level it. Stinker is testing interest in a rear level kit and is considering assembling a kit. 1.5" to 1.75" drop looks best.

is the picture in your post with the shackles???? your truck looks alot more "level" that mine!!!!! i was considering shackles because of the ease of installment but if they don't work, will look for something else!!!! anybody else have an opinion?????

BTW the "viper" brake calipers look killer!!!! are they viper calipers or did you do something with the calipers that came on your RC???????

I scored a set of 1.5" solid aluminum blocks with steel centering pin off eBay and ordered a longer set of U-bolts. Did the install myself. The picture is with the 1.5" block drop. The shackles are in a box on a shelf in my garage.

Sorry, just saw this. I just cleaned my calipers real well. Applied the sticker and then coated everything with rustoleum crystal clear. All I had was spray so I sprayed into the cap and then used a brush to apply. Here is the link to the place I got my stickers from. Just go to their brake caliper page and half way down are the Viper logo's.
