Rearend noise

I notice a slight clunk when I take off slowly from a complete stop and when I'm cruising and tap the accelerator. My mechanic described this is "gear slap". Just wondering if this is something anyone else has experienced and if I need to rebuild the rearend? Where is the best place to get parts if I need to rebuild? Thanks!

Get some more fiber in your diet and your rear end should quiet down..........if your describing drive line (slack) then yes its normal ..

LOL...that was good. So the U-joints are tight...would there sill be drive line slack?

I have the same issue! almost sounds like going from park to drive on an incline. just a slight clunk.

Its always better to feel a clunk in the rear and not a hunk.
