I was watching the news last night and there was a report on the airbag recall. I went onto the website they suggested to check my VIN. I put my truck VIN in and it came up saying I was part of the recall. They said right now there is no fix for it. Hopefully I get an official letter in the mail soon. there is a thread on this subject header is recall??? that covers this.

i got a post card from a local dealer is how i know of it

Didnt somebody say they had the recall done and the dealer broke his dash and they dont know how to fix it since our dash are out of production like everything else?

Also Takata will be repairing this issue for years, so it might be while before they even have the part to the replace your airbag.

Yes they did. I believe it was an 04-05 truck.

I just checked mine and it says the driver airbag inflator. Why would the dash be damaged for such a recall?

Who knows, but I'd let other 05 rams go first. I'd rather keep the airbag currently in then have a broken dash that I cant replace.

Plus, Ive seen all the wreck ram srt-10's from x2builders (place i got my wheels from to replace my stolen ones). The air bags looked like they deployed fine and I havent read any horror stories of one of them grenade airbags being in the ram.

They say higher humidity areas increase chances. I'm probe 10 miles and the crow flies from the Atlantic Ocean in NC. Humidity is always 100% lol

Im in GA where Takata actually had a plant down here years ago but they shut it down. Must have been due to the humidity, ha!
