well, fascism ruins another event. they closed down the entire area, and would not let boats anchor or anything. they wanted small
boats one place big boats another, no anchors. so instead of going into the melee of join the the 500 other boats i went to the big
boat side, and was promptly addressed by people calling themselves "coast guard auxiliary" My mother was with me and i asked
what the hell that meant, she assumed it was just about the same as fire department auxiliary, meaning they serve sandwiches and
drinks, and shrugged her shoulders. Well they got on the bullhorn and said "you cant be here" i waved and nodded my head. about 2
min later they circled back to tell me i needed to move. i yelled something to the effect of "federal waters, sue me". they were like,
well we are going to call the cops and it will belong to them. i said, call them. about 5 min later the coast guard goes to their boat,
has a 2 min conversation with them then comes to my boat. I noticed how when they talked to the aux they just drove off. they
came over to my boat and were like, dont go beyond the canal, and dont get in the way of the big boats, enjoy the show. LOL
guess the aux were a bit over zealous.... happens when you give people power.
i was too far away to see good, but they were flying like a bastard.
