I was getting a smell when running my A/C or defroster, and after reading a few threads I decieded to move my catch can. I have read that some people have actually moved it out of the engine compartment. I did not make that drastic of a move as I like the looks and easy access to it in the engine compartment.

The huge bonus this relocation is that I can now drain the catch can without removing it. I just stick a cup underneath it and drain it :D

The results is a greatly reduced smell from the A/C. There is still a slight smell but I think it may just be residual. I need to clean both filters (CAI & catch can filters).

Here are a few pics:

I think it looks great and I like it being easier to drain. The thing I don't understand is how it will help with the smell??? I don't have the smell problem but might copy your idea just for ease of draining.

I did not connect the two until I read this thread --> LINK

My truck fills that can up quickly and it was a pain to drain! This was the added bonus :D

Who makes the radiator cover with the SRT-10 on it? Thanks

I have been thinking about relocating my catch can.Does not look like you moved your much.Def should help with the draining process the way you have it now.Any ideas out there on where to put the catch can.? I also like the look of it and want to be able to get at it for mait.as well.I ordered an extra filter from justin and as brat mentioned, K&N filter cleaner and let it sun dry.Now I have a clean back up for when the new one gets all funky.

I do not know where else you would be able to mount it other than somewhere in the extra battery tray.

I will probably get a duplicate filter like you... I need to find some air filter cleaner. Looks like a bunch of it on ebay.

I am thinking down lower on the frame rail or somewhere like that.May not see it as well but should get the vapors out under the truck.Where on the firewall does the "smell" get sucked in? I would hate to move it and make it worse!!
