That is true. I forgot how many a day are passing on but it's astonishing. My father-in-law who served in the army passed on Oct. 3rd. at the age of 88.

This is from a MSNBC report. "Once 16 million strong, U.S. veterans of World War II are dying at a rate of more than 1,000 a day and now number about 2.5 million, the Department of Veterans Affairs estimates."

While I was still in the Military, I had the opportunity to walk around Ford Island. I took a little time and stopped by the USS Utah which was still sitting in the shallow water.
