Need some help/advice removing badges. I am thinking of removing the two door RAM badges and the tailgate RAM badge. Looks relatively straight forward (heat and fishing line). However, the front grill emblem seems a bit more complicated. Not sure if it is stuck on or screwed on??? Is there a hole that is left behind after removal? Seems there is a plastic post protruding behind it throught the grill. Also, what is recommended for removing the adhesive (without damaging the paint) after the badge has been removed.?

Yep theres a hole behind the grill badge, snip the plastic post, heat it up with a heat gun pull it off not a big deal, 3M makes a great adhesive remover safe for paint. The one on the tail gate is a war but it will come with some work. Good luck

Thanks for the help

Thanks. Guess I will have to get a Fang badge to replace the grill Ram badge...dont want a hole there.

Some other members can ring in on where to get this, but there are some out there that do not "fit" the curve well, so be careful.

GET AHOLD OF JUSTIN @ JMB, SUPPORTING VENDOR ON THIS SITE.
HE HAS A SWEET HOOD EMBLEM THAT WILL COVER THAT HOLE UP.
I AM WAITING ON MINE AS WE SPEAK.THERE IS A NEW THREAD ABOUT
MANF.ISSUES.CHECK IT OUT.

Use heat not fishing line on the hood one...........made that mistake and gouged the area around it.....turns out its plastic not metal.

Goo Gone works good getting rid of the sticky goop as well.

What a bunch of amatures.

You all forgot the most important part of doing this.

BEER.

I have used the 3M adhesive remover and it worked great. It also works great when removing road tar. Just be sure to rewax that area as it also removes the wax.

The factory viper head will fit, but its smaller than the opening use a little silicone and it wont go anywhere, or like they say call Justin but i dont think his are ready yet, oya dont forget the beer.

Justin's clearcoated badges are awfully nice.....(JMB)

Just use a hairdryer and a guitar pick to remove 'em......;)

(Hey, I used shit that was accessable)

Then some lighter fluid or Gojo to get the goo off....

Good luck.......

Goo-gone from Wal-mart will take the glue off easy and will not harm thew paint. It's cheap too.
