Last weekend I finally got around to replacing my shackles on the truck. I don't have the money right now for Boomer's lowering kit so I went the cheap route in order to help my little boy climb in and out of the truck.

Overall it dropped the rear end about 1 1/2 inches and possible further now it has settled. Doesn't look or sound like much but it definitely is easier for my son (and myself) to get in and out of the truck.

Here are a few pictures of the install. The instructions from DJM were dead on so there really isn't much to explain. Took about 30 minutes total for me to do this. Let me know if you guys have any questions. Very simple to do with minimal tools.

Original Shackle in place:

Here are the differences in Shackles:

Wow I didnt know you could even do that. Looks better for sure and the new ones looks quite nice compared to the rusting stockers!! Did the ride get rougher or anything?

Glad you got around to doing them Paul and that everything worked out for you. Hope you enjoy them.

Thanks for selling them. They will buy me time until I can afford the x-metal drop.

DJM made the shackles that SilvrSRT10 sold me. You can visit their website here --> LINK

The model number was SH1092

The installation instructions are located here --> LINK

I don't know which ones Annu is talking about unless he is talking about the QA1 shocks. :dontknow:

Thanks Paul ---i'm checking out the link---pm replied to Annu

what do you plan to do with the old shackles, i have an idea & need one ?
Are my old shackles required when it comes to boomers drop kit or does he provide some different ones? If they come with his kit I will be happy to send it to you.
