Repo'd SRT-10. Anyone know or remember this truck from the forum?

OK guys, this Chris Sanders's truck is 100% CERTAINLY my truck. It has the same solid black color, when I got it, it had the car-like mirrors, larger paxton aftercooler radiatator mounted cooler, black tail lights, 3rd & 4th gear grinding issues he speaks of in posts, Xmetal stickers all over the engine bay, black powder coated intake, emblems removed, lowered, massive dark tint, southern IL titled EVERYTHING!!! This is IT, not a doubt in my mind! He quit posting a good few months before it was repo'd, but never mentioned if he ever built an engine for it. I doubt it because the 3rd & 4th syncs are still messed up. I dyno'd it just like it came in about 1 week after I got it, and it put down 621 rwhp at SimpleQuick Racing in Ft. Worth which has a dynojet. It is not a Night Runner, but does have the dash plate. I have done quite a bit to it since I got it:

I removed the Bassani Headers & mid pipes, catback(entire exhaust), & sold it to a customer buying an 06 SRT RC from us at the time.

I had American Racing build a set of their full length Headers & catless mids, then custom built a rear exhaust system with 3-1/2 Pipe & dual Flowmaster 40series 2chambers & ran dual 4" chrome flowmaster tips out the back. The exhaust is now a true Dual system with no h-pipe anywhere.

Replaced the factory plug wires, plugs.

Had the windows re-tinted lighter & removed the windshield tint.

Added a BassWerx Box & 12" Infinity Sub from best buy(worked amazingly well, just spliced the factory wire and it worked and by the way sounds AWESOME! You guys should consider changing your sub out with a new box & sub. The factory amp pushes the aftermarket infinity speaker extremely well, and blows the factory sub to the next zip code.

Powercoated the wheels brilliant black

Night Runner oem headlamps

Removed the black car-like mirrors and replaced with factory mirrors(threw the old mirrors away as I hated the way they looked & they were hard to see out of.

2007-2008 Tail Lights(pain in the ass to figure out)

Put new tires on it

ordered & installed the missing factory SRT10 emblems

Changed out the crappy x-metal shifter in favor of a B&M shifter which IMO is the absolute best shifter out there for these trucks. The x-metal shifter actually twisted as it went into gear and felt weird and also noisy * firm. The B&M has a bit of plushyness to it, quieter, doesnt do the turn thing when it changes gears, and also higher up about 2 inches. I hated bending my arm down to grab the knob on the x-metal one.

I added a bedrug & removed the factory bed floor cover(awesome mod). Now I have a massive trunk & makes the truck much more car-like when carrying groceries or something.

Thats about it. The truck is slightly down on power, and #1 cyl is pretty oily since I first got it. I will probably be building a motor soon. Can anyone tell me what all was done to it that isnt available from searching old threads? Anyone....thanks!

ps, I will post pics as soon as I can!

Nice work.. I cant believe you threw out the mirrors...

:needpics:

I also put a completely stock suspension back under it. That X-metal suspension is crazy-rough, or i'm too old. I traded the suspension back off of my old truck before I sold it.

I put the powerstick mufflers on last week. I have true 3" as well. It is so loud it scares people when I even start it. If I WOT next to someone they almost drive off the road.

Usually do that next to a Prius with an Obama sticker on it. ;)

Mine is not too loud. The flowmasters actually muffle pretty well. I did have it straight pipes from the headers to the tail pipe(no mufflers or converters), and let me tell you, that was LOUD! I was actually very surprised at the 40series Flowmasters(black oval shaped ones) as they are not as loud as I expected.

flowmasters---fail... drone, restrictive, and just sound terrible compared to the others exhaust availble

Anyone know if he put a cam in it? It does have a fairly rough adle, but then all these trucks have a slightly lumpy idle

I doubt this is a nightrunner.......if you can PM me the last 9 digits of the SN I can get you a printout of all options on the truck..

You can say they sound crappy all day long, but one thing flowmasters have, and always had is a distict flowmater hollow sound/wirly bird tone found in NO OTHER muffler. I have been using flowmasters since I was a kid in the early 90's, and there is an absolute reason why. Anything else no matter what brand....... borla, corsa, dynomax, magnaflow, cherry bomb, etc all may make your vehicle sound good and have rave sound reviews, but there's a distict difference with flowmaster. You can be standing in a group of say 50 general hotrodding/carguy type enthusiest people on a street corner, and have any vehicle race by wide open OR even cruise by and the only brand of muffler the crowd will recognize will be, Yes ..............a FLOWMASTER. I understand that this is a group of Viper V-10 fans as I am myself, and many people will think my truck sounds like crap with its old-ass flowmasters, but you cant argue my point that flowmasters produce the most distict/unique sound available. I know I sound old school, but this is "how it is"....Period.

Now, restriction-wise, All racing/performance mufflers flow close IMO unless they are straight through design. Flowmasters may not flow quite as much as others in trade for the unique sound, but its not much difference...common.

Hey if you decide to sell the Roe blower you have, I would probably take it. Let me know if you do.

The truck is up at my shop, I am fixing to do a leakdown test, but I will go write down the VIN & send it to you. These trucks werent very full of options. I think in 2006, you could only option the REC Nav radio, color, & night runner package. I dont even think the side airbags were available on 06's. Otherwise these trucks all come pretty much the same.

Mine has the side air bags....according to the 2006 nightrunner broshere the color should be brilliant black....if yours is solid black it may be one of very few or even a one off....supposingly only around 40 ram SRT10's were painted solid black...maybe to just use up left over paint..:dontknow: ...never have heard of a NR painted solid black..

The NR also had a special console & center dash that was black...does yours look like below?..

Mine has side airbags as well and rear slider window. Mine was fully loaded with Uconnect and Nav as well. Heated seats, dual power seats, etc... Every option except NR which I did not want because of the stickers and wheels.
