I got a short lesson when I had new tires put on. Road force balance does the centrifugal balance and takes into consideration hard or soft spots in the tire that would adversely affect ride quality. It applies (I forgot how many pounds) of force to the tire to locate any such anomalies. Regular balance just spins the tire for centrifugal balance. I had mine RFB and I really like the way it rides.

i had mine rfb'd too, just from a glance i didn't see the difference in the tire balancing machine..... your link was very informative, thanks.:D

The balancers look similar however the RFB has a separate spindle that places a "load" on the tire. Amount of load varies depending on vehicle the wheel is from....
