So I have this fantasy in my head of driving a road course in my QC... I've seen plenty of reputable drag times from QC owners... but I have yet to see any heavy road race or drifty stuff. So this leads me to question if this fantasy of mine should just stay in my head or not... What do you guys think? I mean, if shifting is an issue I'm thinking about paddle shifters too. I know I can't expect the same results as a RC but still... I think it'd be cool :dontknow:

i've have the rc srt, and a qc hemi and suprizingly enough the hemi is much easier to drift. with the extra length it seems to be a lot smoother. my personal opinion thou

Thats awesome. I've heard it's easier with longer vehicles too, I was just worried about the auto tranny. Something else to consider in my case is that I've got several hundred extra pounds of speaker junk in the back. Though I'm considering pulling it out and doing it myself so it will look better and actually be modular & removable for track events.

well the extra weight wont matter except for acceleration for the most part. if you remove the weight and put it back in it throws your judgement of how the truck is gonna react way off. as far as the trans goes, auto is better for road racing as far as speed, but it is very hard on the trans. if you do it, at the very least upgrade the pan, and put a cooler on it with a built in fan. the cooler you keep it, the longer it will last. the biggest problem you will probably face is the fact that your turning radius isn't as small as a rc. you will still have a lot of fun doing it no matter what thou

what i would do, is mount it next to the radiator or in front of it, then all you do is run the wires for pwer and ground, and run the existing cooler lines into it. then you can get rid of the thin stock one. the stock one may also be built into the radiator but i dont think so. i put one in my hemi after i burnt up 3 transmissions, and i have 70,000 miles on the current trans. i put a gauge in the trans to see how hot it got and the cooler dropped the temp by 50 degrees!!!!

You might want to lower it first too. The QC rear end at stock height sits 1.3 miles above the wheels, lol. A little too much IMO for a road racer.
