Got the lower pulley installed today:rock: :burnout:

With just the 10# pulley, I was making about 7.5lbs. Now with the 7in lower, I'm at 11.5:) So that's what you guys can expect if you're planning on doing this.... about 4lbs. I also have the measurement for the belt, if anybody needs it;)

The truck ended up making 655rwhp, on a pretty conservative tune. My tuner is happy with it, the truck is definately happy with it, so that makes me happy:D The thing pulls like a freakin freight train! Second gear is now just as useless as first gear:burnout: :burnout: :burnout:

   :burnout: :burnout: :burnout:

i guess its a good thing we have 6 speeds, lol. :marchmellow: :burnout:

time for a 4 link?????

I love useless gears! I'm thinking about installing my 7lb pulley....... if i'm only at 500 hp the pound or 2 i gain shouldn't hurt.

I wouldn't do that with a roe on stock internals!!

Info Please : )

Can I get that info, I will be doin this winter, and I know belt research is a bitch so it would be greatly appreciated:D

Me too please. While I am not planning on doing the lower pulley mod...I might get bored this winter...

Thanks in advance.

good numbers brad! bet some lighter rims and you could put down some better numbers

This is different from my experience. I have the 7" lower pulley with Roe's 5.6LB pulley. I am getting 11LBs confirmed by both my in cab guage and dealer's commercial guage.

I know you had another thread where we discussed your low reading with the 10LB pulley and OEM lower pulley. I had 9.3LBs with the 10LB pulley and OEM lower. I originally had 7LBs with the 5.6LB pulley and OEM lower. My heads were specially prepped for FI by Roe. May make some difference but seems like most of the Roe SC members reported around 7LBs with the Roe standard setup.

I would think most that switch the lower pulley will see ~11LBs with the 5.6LB pulley and 13-14 with a 10LB.

Glad to hear that this got your boost up. 11LBs does make a difference..;)

There is a formula with the 2 diameters of the pulleys. Give Sean Roe your numbers and he can calculate the boost with his SC.

Ya, it took a few trips to NAPA to find the right belt:) Actually, NAPA didn't even have this one... we found it at a little local auto parts store.

The belt I got is a Gates K070931. It's 93-5/8", or 2378mm in length.

Guys, this belt is a really tight fit. I say go with a 93-3/4" if you can find it.;)

As far as my boost levels go:dontknow: who knows. There's nothing wrong as far as we can tell. I'm not losing boost anywhere, that's just all the blower is making.

nothing wrong with tightness...:D
maybe your losing boost thru the bypass cooler somehow?? i know you lose boost thru and intercooler on a turbo car

I don't think I can lose boost through the bypass cooler:dontknow: but we checked it anyways.

I am using a belt that is right at 95". My pulley is larger than yours so it also fits tight....but it has rolled off twice in 6 months....I am going to add another pulley on the SC pulley bracket to put more tension on the belt..

There isn't a huge difference in size between the SC pulleys... I think your belt is too long.

not like a leak, like a restriction, google intercooler boost drop

I'm gonna call David tomorrow, and get him to explain exactly how it works. I don't think it works like a normal intercooler

All the following is approx..

The 5.6LB pulley = 251.2mm in circumference.

The 10LB pulley = 213.52mm in circumference.

The belt rides on approx half the pulley.

My belt length would need to be 18.84mm (251.2 - 213.52) x .5) or .74" longer..

Assuming your belt is the correct length then I need to shorten my belt about .5"........

I could be off either way since the belt would not be exactly riding on half the pulley......plus my geometry is rusty so I may be going at this wrong..maybe one of our resident engineers could critique...John?

Isn't the 10# pulley smaller?:dontknow:

.5" sounds about right.
