Please add your name to the list if you're interested and would commit to the purchase of an intercooler for your Roe setup. Obviously, there would have to be a significant amount of people interested for Sean to consider the time, research and development.

Seems I remember something about him trying but finding the cooler way to restrictive.

I believe it would be too restrictive for you guys running on stock internals (i.e. only 5-6 psi). Although it is dependent on the mass flow rate, which I don't know.

I have discussed an option with Sean that would be completely unrestrictive, very feasible and virtually bullit proof. Meaning little to no risk of water intrusion into the motor.

If you could utilize an intercooler that was efficient with this kit along with maybe changing the plate design to help with airflow as well:dontknow: We would start to see some of these Roe trucks especially one's with motor work put down some nice #'s on the dyno and track:rock: Also with a intercooler you could get the boost up there around 16lbs and still be good:D I think:dontknow:

Throw in a port job on the blower to boot and It would be that much better!

Sean has not replied to this thread or the other so maybe he's not interested:dontknow: I really think a intercooler would help us out alot:burnout: I am guessing but on a stock truck over the current setup one with an intercooler would probaly pick up at least 30rwhp:rock:

I think there is no real benefit to those running anywhere from 5 to 8lbs and using the Meth injection. Anything over there that is when an intercooler should be effective.

I think it is a fit issue, the cooler needs to go between the blower and the intake, not much room to play with there, unless you want to cut a hole in your hood?:D

That's 100% correct.

8 psi is the magic number. Anything over that is when the air heats enough to make cooling beneficial. Air heats as you compress it. Keep in mind that intercoolers also have some inherent restriction that you have to overcome by spinning the blower harder. A good intercooler setup may have 2 to 3 psi of boost loss from one side to the other.

It is possible to do, but I'm a little short on time at the moment. Maybe over the fall / winter.

Regards,
Sean

While I plan to stay at 5.6 lbs I still think this set up might add to the longevity of an engine. It would also be an outstanding addition for those who might move to the 10 lb pulley for track applications and back to the 5.6 lb for street applications...

So consider me interested too!

Sean, wouldn't the setup we discussed be non-restrictive since the air would be cooled going around a core rather than thru it? Would there be any downside to moving the coils? I think must of us would want them moved from their existing location anyway.

One more thing, how about offering a intercooled ported intake?
