Roe SC Problem

My installer said he finished putting the Roe SC on the truck and he said it's having "driveability issues." Like it feels as though the injectors are too big for the tune that Sean sent me. He told me he had to really give it some gas just to get it on and off the lift in the shop. Now he hasn't put the meth kit on yet so he hasn't got to try the performance tune to determine if it was in fact just a problem with the stage 2 tune. I'm going to check it out this afternoon so I was hoping some of you guys would have any other ideas of what it could be that wasy I can have him check for possible solutions.
 
I believe they are 48 lb injectors with his stock kit. Should be fine for the tune. Should be scaled at 70% on the injector page if I remember correctly.

What is the A/F ratio?

Have you talked to Sean? Or just finding out now?
 
Silly question, but did the installer load a card into the Vec? If not you will be rich with the standard SC PCM flash, until Sean's program loads and scales the injectors (70-71%).

It's been a few months since I tinkered with the VEC program but I can go through it with you on the phone. Obviously, Sean is the expert, but I might be able to catch something in the meantime.
 
He didn't mentiont the A/F ratio because he didn't get to drive it around yet. Just said it feels boggy I guess. I just found out yesterday afternoon so I didn't get a chance to call Sean. If we can't figure it out this weekend, then I'll call him Monday.

I used SCT so there's no card to load. Is there any way to screw up loading the SCT tunes?
 
Dave is correct on the injector size...I have run as high as 54 lb injectors and had no problem.

I bet Sean will be able (and willing) to address the issue with your tuner.

Keep us posted on what you find.

I was almost positive it wasn't an injector problem just because they're the injectors that Sean sends with the kit.

If anybody has any ideas as far as installation mistakes/mechanical possibilities go, throw them out please. Hopefully I'll know more later today though.
 
The install is pretty straight forward and uncomplicated.

Maybe a check of vacuum lines???
 
Due my my total lack of patience, I went and checked it out just a minute ago. It takes a good 5-8 seconds to start. It turns over but just super slow around 200 RPMs then after a few more seconds, it slowly ramps up to normal idle speeds. Then it feels like it has no power under load.
 
Have you tried to call Sean? If he doesn't answer the phone...try email...he is usually working (all the time)...unless his girl friend has demanded some quality time!
 
Unfortunately, I can't help you with the SCT, only watched Torrie tune with it last year. Maybe some others with the SCT can chime in?

Can you reload the tune, or put another tune in?
 
If you got the "ball game music" at the end of the load you were successful. Your best bet as others have mentioned is to contact Sean...could be many different issues.......most here that have Roes had little or no probelms (including me) with the install..
 
I just email Sean so hopefully he's working today. We finally have some nice, sunny weather here and I want to go fast!

Sean and I had some really weird problems when I installed my SC and it turned out to be several botched SCT files.

I had a surging, erratic idle and bogged down when you tried to give it gas. So not exactly like your issue, but could be worth checking on.

Another good option to be sure the PCM is reset is to unplug the 3 big connectors on the unit for 15 minutes or so. This makes sure it dumps any adaptives it might have stored up. The adaptives from your pre-SC days will just confuse it now, as all the ratios are off. This works much better than just unplugging the battery to reset it.

Talk with Sean, that's the best way to figure it out. He really good about getting back to you.
 
Just got off the phone with Sean and he thinks since it's the old supercharger setup, the MAP sensor might be hooked up incorrectly. He said that would cause my current problem so we're going to give it a shot. I'm hoping it's something this simple. Thanks for all the input guys. I'll post up if it fixes everything.

Sean wasn't saying it was the sensor itself. It was how it was hooked up. Something about he thought it might have been installed on the vaccuum hose instead of the boost hose or visa versa. He explains it much better than I do:D .
 
Why I asked is you need to replace the MAP sensor with one for an 2005 SRT4....The VEC does not require this but the SCT does...or at least it was that way when I changed from VEC to SCT..

Right and Sean sent the new MAP sensor with the SCT when I ordered it. So the issue is that it just wasn't connected properly.

Don't worry, I didn't drive anywhere. Just backing in and out of the shop is all.
 
Do you have AFR gauge? Any idea what you putting out? What about your boost/vac gauge what does it read once it is idling?
