RPM Problem...?

Hi it's been a while since i've been here but still owner of the beast !
i am experiencing some problem...when engine is hot and i hit the kick down rpm comes back down but stays a 2000rpm until engine is cold...Any thought ?

Serge, I believe you are saying that when the engine upshifts, it runs at a certain RPM, then later will drop another 200 RPM as if it was upshifting again. Is that correct? It sounds like you are merely seeing the converter lock and unlock via the tachometer.

my bad you should ad read 2000 rpm it's like i'm on cruise control at 2000rpm and it is pretty fast...

OP, can you clarify if the engine is idling at 2000 RPM, or is it staying at 2000 RPM after shifting?

Sounds like IAC. You can do this yourself if you have some Torx bit sockets and some carb cleaner. Pull the sensor and clean it thoroughly with the cleaner and replace. I haven't had NA engine for awhile so I can't tell you where it is on the stock intake but I'm sure someone on here can tell you.
