Noticed something very interesting the other day, i was out with a friend of mine on the freeway who also has an 05qc. We were comparing our readouts while cruising, gas mileage, stuff like that............I know i need to get a life.............anyways i noticed that at 80mph im running at 2600 rpms, he was only at 2400. Next time you get up to 80 can someone take a look and tell me where they are running, not sure why this would happen. No mods on either truck.

Thanks from a rookie

Headwind the same?

Weight if anything is in the box? Plus weight from added fuel, IE: you had more then him.

Maybe his broke in a little better, giving it more power. See this a lot on motorbikes.

we both filled up before the ride, and we were right next to each other on the freeway talking on cell phones, thought it was odd.

2600 is spot on

if 2600 is right on, does that mean there is something wrong with his tranny only showing 2400, he thinks it might be slipping.....he has 9000 on his ride, mine only 4000

Slipping? Maybe but probably not, i've got a good 1000 kilometers with my Supercharger and there's been no slippage on my tranny. It's still stock with 620ish RWHP and i dont drive Miss Daisy around :)

He could check it out at the dealership, but like I said if he has no mods.. especially no Stage II PCM i couldn't see it.

if it was slipping, his RPM would be higher. have him test the gauge cluster to see if it's reading correctly.

i think you just hold down the trip meter reset button and turn the key on.

all the gauges should go through a calibration

Something tells me the supercharged truck has less rubber on the rear wheels...

Did you have the cruise control on? If so were you pacing each other or was one starting to slowly walk away? Any difference in your weight from his?

both set cruise right at 80.........no weight difference, trucks were empty except for drivers. Im starting not to believe what he was telling me at this point, seems like there is no logical explanation

No two gauges are ever going to read exactly the same thing, that's especially true of factory gauges. They're intended to be reference points, nothing more...IMHO.

Do you have different gears, I know 06's have 4:56, maybe your previous owner did a swap??? Do you both have stock rear ends?
