Runnin Rough

Well, figure i'd update you guys on the situation. I just got my Airraid drop in filter. Installed and noticed that its quite a bit smoother. After the holidays i'll probly bring it in for a checkup. Also when i disengage my clutch i get a fairly loud slapping sound. should i be concerned about this?

Sharpi

Fully disengage (pedal completely out)?

Both when its in gear, and in neutral?

Does the noise go away when your foots held down, (foot pressed down on clutch pedal) disengaged...?

Only when cold?

Hey Red, the noise only comes when i disengage the clutch. The temp doesn't matter and like i said it only happens when i disengage my clutch. I don't get the sound if i engage just when i disengage. And today it was around 43 Degrees and my truck was soundin a lot more rough than usual. Time to go see the dealer... :(

Had a recall on 04's and some 05's where the harmonic balancer was coming loose and causing a hell of a lot of problems. Better get to a dealer ASAP
I never heard of a recall.:dontknow:

Hey, finally went to the dealer... Far as i'm concerned there never gonna see
my truck again. Heres the story: i bring it to the dealer and let it sit over
night as i said the truck has problems running cold. well, sure enough when i
get back that afternoon i pick up my truck and talked to the guy that was
working on it. They told me he was a SRT-10 'specialist'. haha, this guy didn't do jack shit.
i asked him what was wrong and the reply was: 'nothing'.
i told him theres just no way you didn't feel how rough it was running. so
pissed as i was i reclaimed my truck only to find that a quarter of my gas
and 30 miles had been added to my truck. I went back in and asked why the
hell they drove for 30 miles when around the block whould have been enough to
notice the problem. They just pretty much blew me off telling me they
wanted to be sure that there was no problem. That just pissed me off man
let me tell you nothing like getting screwed over :motz: Anyways i sort
of solved my own problem.

Resolution:
I found that if i just let the truck idle until its about 200 Degrees. and the Oil
is around 190 then the truck doesn't run nearly as rough as it did. i personally
don't think i should have to do this as our highs are around 50 these days. Butif it helps reduce that damn rough feel then i'll do it.

when i tried to start mine when it was really cold outside it wouldn't start for awhile. i have never had it happen again though

I'm having the same rough running problems you are. I have also been experiencing some high idles (from 1000-1500rpms). Last night the truck bucked at low rpms like a champion rodeo bull. I looked like I had no idea how to drive the thing. No codes being thrown so I'm going to get a new TPS from the dealer on monday.

BTW...every time I take my truck in for service, they tell me they can only drive it 9 miles, then have to ask my permission to drive it any more than that. If you have proof, you may have a grievance with the dealer.

Hey spdrcrj, Every once and a while i also get the high idle problem. Usually
only in the mornings and just when i start it. Don't get the bucking problems
though :dontknow: let me know how that TPS swap goes. If you notice a
pretty substantial diffrence i just might try it. Also what are the rules on
changing dealerships for service? i really wouldn't mind trying to goto a
diffrent dealership as the leesburg dodge dealership are complete idiots. :marchmellow:

You can go to any dealership bro, but about 80%of the suck when it comes to warranty.

Make sure they have a "viper certified tech" no others should be working on it.

The TPS should take care of alot of the problems
