Ok i am less than 2 weeks from my approval for my RV, and have been watching this one.
its a 2006 National RV TRADEWINDS 40C
it is brand new.
the MSRP was $262,750
the asking price is 189,625

so i e-mailed him, low balled him with a $60,000 offer, here is what he wrote back.....

Hi Joshua,
Thank you for your interest and offer on our New Tradewinds
40C. The NADA book value for a used one is $144,700.
You can buy it $115,00. How does that seem to you?
Thanks, Bob

i am thinking of counter offering 85,000 and see if he will go lower.
what do you RV people think?
SRT-TOAD?

if its a 2006 114 is close, we bought a 2008 fleetwood discovery with 1600 miles on it for 129k just give you a idea. pm fatjack he can tell you what they are bringing at the auctions

National RV is bankrupt and completely out of business, where you gonna find parts?? Sounds like you are trying to steal one anyway, go for it.

I don't like two-piece windshields. Have you driven one that has a one piece? It's a big difference.

Asking price is 190k and you low balled him with 60k. Damn your cheap :D

I would think at this point if he saw another email from you, he would just delete it.

didnt know that jack. a lot of them now-a-days are out of business. or in the process of heading that way

Typical of "luxury" items these days. Times will turn around but only few of the larger companies will make it. :(

yes it is, dont tell the dealer i said this, but... most parts on the camper portion are interchangeable. the chassis is freightliner, and they are not going away. that warranty is good for 5 years after date of purchase.

i looked into those, and love them. one crack your out $3500!!!!!!! VS 600-800 with a split. i will take the line.

times are bad, unless i said $10 i think he would respond, and he has again...

Our trailer and towable season is over but our moterhome
season is just getting strong. We owe G.E. Credit $115,000
to pay it off. We paid $178,710 plus the interest each month
for the Tradewinds. that is a LARGE LOSS. You have to be close to $115,000. My boss isn't going to use winter cash
flo to pay it off any shortage. Make him an offer he can't
turn down.

i am thinking a take it or leave it of $80,000.
if he says no there are lots more half dead fish in the sea.
this is the oldest new one i have found thou.

I wish we all knew half as much as you do :)

thats from him.
he says 115,000 but also says to make an offer he can't turn down.

bet i could get it for 100,000.
not sure if its worth 100,000.
no idea what a RV from a defunct rv maker will be worth in 5 years. or in 10?
i think its unprecedented. anyone know of this happening before, an RV builder going out? how will the value hold up?

I think since they dont make it anymore its pratically useless anyway, they should just give it to you.

.50 on the dollar or less, there have been many RV companies go out of business. Why do you think they have a NEW 06 model.

i wouldnt buy it... a new O6? they need regular maintinace, even wile sitting....i'll put money on it that it has the original oil, (motor and gen) Roof damage from the sun, needs batteries....at this point your better off buying a used one. not worth it, especially for 115k

ps: high dollar coachs are not all interchangeable parts, esspecially on class A's
