You know, I have to wonder what would be said if this guy was the typical American. I have a feeling that he would be calling for the pilot's head and the closing of the base.

I also wanted to say that if I was the sitting President right now, this guy would be getting a holiday invitation to the White House. I would do anything I could to help him through these devastating times, seems the least of it would be an invite.
I agree, Bob.

Bill.

All those people that move next to a base (or airport, or amphitheatre) and then complain about the noise for starters. From my experience they are more and more the typical American. It's a shame. And that's the least of it it seems.

Everybody thinks they are entitled to shit and everybody always seems pissed off. Anyway, that's my definition (at least for today ehheh)

So by "typical American", you mean "typical dumb-assed person that moves next to a AF base and complains about noise, that happens to be American"? :dontknow: :D ...... Am I tracking correctly?

No, actually I do mean typical American. I'm willing to bet that better than 50% of natural born Americans in this same situation would not react in this manner. As I said, they would be calling for the pilot's head, not calling him "a treasure for the country". They would be question why he punched out. They would be blaming him and the Corps for this. They would want the base closed. And you can bet your ass one of the very first calls they would have made is to a lawyer.

Of course, this is all based on opinion and conjecture and I could be wrong, but I seriously doubt that.

I will say most of the (LEGAL) immigrants I've met are some of the most patriotic people I know.... they absolutely LOVE this country. :congrats:

That is because they know all to well what the alternative is IMO.

Bob, I agree with you that he seems to be handling all this better than the average bear would be. What I wonder at this point is how he will handle it when all the ambulance chasers show him the amount of money that he's "entitled to" due to the "negligance of the US Military/government" and God only know who else. THAT will be the test of his metal...my guess is he'll flunk that test, but we'll see. I hope I'm wrong on that point.
