Sand Car Rebuild Progress.

Here are some pics of the sandcar being fixed...

What your looking at is a laser cut dual layer 1/4" chromoly bulkhead. Notice the 4 bungs that go through the piece this is where the new "power ram" steering box will mount to.

The old piece was just a dual layer 3/16" mild steel, and the steering box was just mounted to the front layer using two bolts.

So the new one is not only thicker, the way its mounted is probably about 5 times stronger.

The welding is not complete yet... and there are a few more braces being made as well.

The quickest I have done is at the sand drags of 107mph... at least thats what the GPS was telling me... probably could have eeked bit more out of it... but I ran out of room... and had to shut her down....

I am also adding a "racepak" all digital gauge system.
