Did a forum search and came up empty. I've got really bad static (sometimes) from my satellite radio. It happens when I first start up. Most often when I've got the AC on, but not always. It is intermittent. Will not go away until I shut the truck off and let it sit for a while. Pretty strange. Must be a power or ground issue as I don't believe you can have static with a satellite radio. Anyone else out there experience anything like this?

nope mine is crystal clear...with the fm transmitter...... but they have an adapter that you can get to connect the unit directly to the radio so u can eliminate static

Re; Is your satelite radio added to the back of your factory radio or is it a plug n play unit( Sporster 4 or other)? I have factory nav unit w/Sirius in my 05 SRT-10, & a Sportser 5 added to my 03 QC 4x4. Had to go to Circuit City for the antennae adapters(2 wires that plug into antennae lead to sat radio, then to fac radio) Problem solved, NO STATIC

Factory Nav unit with Sirius (stock set up). Actually now that you mention it. I changed out the 6 disc CD palyer for the Nav unit but had / have the same problem with both head units.

possible bad antennae lead? These new radios have that funky connection into the radio that is EASILY DAMAGED. Can't think of any other reason you would have static:dontknow:

Yes I have exactly the same problem. Dodge has issued a TSB on this specific problem. Intermittent static that last usually through one startup cycle.. Its a defective sattelite module. There is an enigma surrounding this.
Unless the dealer installed this part for you your basically out of luck. I had Dragon send me another module but it still does the same thing although not as bad. Did you do the installation yourself? If you did then the dealerships will not warranty this. Its very strange

Thanks NYCSTEV! It was installed when I purchased the truck, so it should be covered under warranty. Guess I'll be taking a trip to a dealer. Glad there is a TSB, most service technicians aren't worth much when it comes to diagnosing problems.

Even if there isn't a Tsb.. its still under warranty so give em' hell!

Good luck with the dealer. FYI: I had my local dealer install an OEM Sirius kit in my 06 RC (w/REC radio -- Nav). I bought the parts, they did the install. When I was looking at the receive/antenna kits, Chrysler offered 2 part numbers. One kit priced at aorund $185.00 and the other was in the $400.00 range. Found out the cheaper priced unit was obsoleted and replaced because of functional problems and compatibility problems with the CAN Bus. Not sure if any of this relates to static issues but I went with the updated parts and knock on wood no problems at all.
