trying to decide what would be best supercharger or turbos. What are the pros and cons and which do you think would be better for more horses.

Scrambler1 said:Well we all used to think that the Paxton was the way to make the most power with a supercharger. While it does make some more power than a Roe on a stock motor the difference isn't huge. I think the idea that a Paxton would make big power on a built motor has been officially proven wrong. Two recent builds have shown the Paxton running out of boost at just 4psi yielding around 650hp. The Paxton just isn't large enough or move enough air to build any boost on higher volume, more free flowing engines. I should have the results of mine very soon but am expecting more of the same.
So that pretty much leaves turbos for truly big power. Whether you choose a big single or twins, right now this is the way to go. Two guys are working on running a very large Vortech supercharger, we'll see how that goes, that plan is as yet unproven.

twice as much but its so much more than flow rates think volumebigike said:Procharger flows 700 more cfm than a roe how much more than the paxton?

My Roe is close to running out of fuel with the stock fuel rails and fuel pump at about 8 lbs of boost.
I think I am near the max with the Roe and a reasonable amount of safety. While I have head work it is minimal and more would probably immediately out strip the existing fuel system capability.
I've spent well over $20k with the forged bottom end, Roe SC, water/meth injection.
Those numbers don't include the expense of trying to gain traction or make it pretty!
Cubic dollars is what it takes...multiple turbos...and a resident great engine tuner, free access to a dyno and a traction guru are the route to big hp to the ground.

The horsepower of your truck is limited only by the size of your wallet![]()
