Put new Goodyear Fortera SL tires on my 10. Cruising at 70 mph I started to pass and gave it the gas. Yes to the floor cause I like the rush. As soon as I could I pulled over to check rear tires as it felt like I had a low tire on the driver’s rear. Nope, all was well. The next time I tried to pass and kicked it in the rear it did the same thing. Finally dawned on me, my rear tires might be breaking loose. Oh crap, at 70 and loosing traction. Am I right in my assumption?:dontknow:

Unlikely you're spinning brand new tires at 70 bro!! I wonder the speed rating on those tires? Are they W or Z rated? Often times inferior speed rating tires will have a softer sidewall and deep tread that the truck will "flex" and get the loose feeling you describe. Either that or the tires are way hard "old" and spinning? You can have "NEW" old tires. Basically been sitting on a shelf for years after production!! You can read the DOT code and last 4 digits are week and year of manufacture. At least you'll know they are truly "NEW"

Looks like they are an all season tire with 130 mph speed rating so be careful on them. Our trucks run 150+ stock so a Z, W, or Y rated tire are really more appropriate.
Not saying your tires aren't a great daily driver tire, just remember their boundaries!!

Load XL, Speed rating H and the date of manufactured: 2 tires are 2812 and the front are 3612. Would seem they are pretty new. Is the load rating too low meaning the sidewall is giving when cornering at speed?

lug nuts tight but loose nut behing the wheel.

Double check pressure too! Forgot that. They are SUV or truck tires so weight is fine. Speed rating is below par and I'm sure you're feeling the tread roll from the shock. Basically all the grooves and sipes are flexing and moving versus a performance tires with less siping. Probably feels weird around corners as well?
They'll work fine and may last a long time, just remember the speed rating.:rock:

Hey guys, that makes perfect since. The grooves are really deep and flexing stands to reason. I picked these tires as they had 130 mph rating and deep grooves. Also the 45 vs the 40’s on stock tires made my ride somewhat smoothers. I am old and grumpy so want a little smoother ride than the Pirellis gave. Lastly I drive 40-50K miles a year and do not race, with the exception of a Bumble Bee yesterday that tempted me. Maybe I should have ask the fellows here before buying the tires. Just have to live with it for a while. Thanks for all the help----I mean it as I would be totally lost if not for the gracious help you guys so freely give. May God bless all of you.

I gotta agree. This group is much like the group I once belonged to---“Saubier” which was a small caliber shooting group. I have done over 100 guns sales/buys/trades with these guys and never once got burned. The information they provided was always honest and helpful. Seems I have found that kind of group with my new love----SRT-10honest and helpfull. Thanks to all. Hopefully someday I will be able to return the favor by helping others.

I bought my truck with these tires and have put a few thousand trouble free miles on them.
Mine do not feel squirly at all though.
