My wife has a 96 camaro RS that she will not get rid of. Even after she promised to sell it after we bought the SRT8 2 years ago.

It runs but has 2 bad injectors and low compression due to being stolen and rode hard.

I've looked into swaping it out for a LT1 or LS1 and it just looks to expensive.............

My buddy came to me today and found me a 98 Z28 for 1000. It has a few small problems that I can fix. Hasn't run in 1.5 yrs.

Now my wife still isn't keen on the idea because it wouldn't be "HER" car................ WTF.

So my question will the K member or whatever they call it on a f-body swap out from a 98 to a 96? I know that wiring would be a nightmare.

Got any ideas. Or should she just swap out her leather interior and let me put her old vin tag in a frame and hang it on the dash LOL.

>>>>>>>>>>>I did this in a open forum to build our post count, cause after all thats all that matters in the end. :)

Well yeah you could pull the LS1 out of the 98 and put it in the 96 if it really matters to her that much. It is NOT an easy process as the computers are very different, and no it isn't a simple K-member swap. Changing a v6 car to a v8 hasn't been worth the price/effort since the cars were two years old.

That is a dirt cheap price for the 98, provided it runs decent. But there are LOTS of used F-bodies floating around, everything from looks/feels brand new to rode hard and stock to wild. I bet you could find her one she'd trade for!

Ha mount the old vin on the dash! I love it.

If nothing else tell her the 98 will have TWO cupholders instead of just the one in the 96! Girls just look for the wrong things in cars.

HAHAHAHAHAHA

maybe the cup holders would sell her on it!

She wants a drag car and the 98 would be the easiest...................... 408, procharger, fast EFI and GO BABY GO!

Now that's what I'm talkin about!! The LSX platform is a great place to start. If you want 10's out of a perfectly streetable car take the 98, 383 or 408 motor, 12 bolt rearend, LS7 clutch, 150 shot, and drag radials or cheater slicks.
