I hope everyone that ordered an SCT from Marty has the same or better results that I did. I waited a week to use the SCT as I had to install my 172 stat first. I am VERY pleased with the SCT. Of course my truck runs smoother but the real noticable difference is the throttle response and how the beast revs. It comes alive much, much quicker and seems to have gained noticable horsepower as well. I wish I had the cash to keep modding and improving. I have JMB catless mids ordered and am looking for wheels and slicks for the track. Anything else will probably have to wait until after my factory warranty expires in December.

THANKS A TON MARTY!!!:burnout:

Hey jrray24,good to hear its working great, Have you tried going just under 30 MPH then WOT to drop down into 1st and hold it to let it shift into 2nd and 3rd? Try it out if you haven't just to make sure your tranny shifts properly,I was having some minor issues with that, same as alot of others,Im just updating my tranny tune right now and will give it a blast after lunch or tonight.
But yeah the reponse is way better, makes it fun to drive again.Make up the beast!

I think he has a rc so that wont work but I on the other hand have tried it with my stage 2 flash and it smokes the tires through 1st from a roll on and then when it does hook it squeels 2nd awesome!

What kind of shifting problems were you having? I just had a valve body replaced and its not right. After the flash my 2-3 shift was hanging for 1/2 sec or so at times from standing start. The 1-2 was great. I flashed it back to stock for now and there is definitely a problem not related to flash. Just curious though so I could ask Marty for the updated flash for the future.

Love the flash by the way. I can really feel the difference back to stock. Unbelievable you can that kind of improvement by pushing buttons and turning key on and off.

OOOPS!! LOL!,guess I should have looked at his sig closer:D ,but yeah Auto tranny is what Im refering to,Thanks for the HU Chad.

I do have an RC so I can't answer any of the auto shifting ?s but maybe someday I will go twin turbo with an automatic and I will be asking you all the ?s!!!

I have had absolutely no unusual backfiring, popping or other issues. I am running a 93 tune on 93 octane from the pump; no additives. The truck just simply came alive. Oh, it also idles more smoothly once it is warmed up to 172.

The only issue I had was being impatient and screwing up the download of the tune twice before it was finished!!!!

The only thing I have noticed on my auto is one time I went to pass a farmer that was only going like 30mph and when I stomped it and it down shifted I swear it went into like a false neutral. It hasnt done it since but was enough to make me realize I need to have the fluid changed and the bands adjusted.

Sounds like you need a band adjustment. Does it only happen when you are WOT, during normal driving or both? If it is WOT then I would get your tranny serviced (recommend at 15K miles).

Under very light throttle when it goes from 1-2 especially up an incline it wavers back on forth between 1-2, kinda like half into 2nd. Also 2-3 tacs at about 3 grand and then eventually goes into gear under light throttle. Under WOT it will hang intermittently from 2-3, 3-4 and then slams into gear. 1-2 seems good. The trans just had a valve body replaced and the front and rear bands adjusted after the replacement. Truck has 12,800 miles on it. All clutches and steels and front band replaced at 9,200 miles. Spring on actuator was missing and tore up above parts b/c no fluid.

Try driving around in Tow/haul mode and see if there is a difference.

Slvr the problem from what i'm told is communication between the hyd ports in the vlv body due to imperfect machining of stock vlv bodies............

buy a aftermarket lapped vlv body.

Also, did they replace the gov solenoid, it picks up metal debris as it is magnetized and when enough collect it's time to replace it.

TOPIC Man I'm glad you like your SCT, I wish they had come out before I bought my Stage 2! Do you notice your fans coming on earlier, and at Idle are they at full speed or do the increase in rpm with engine revs?

If there is then any ideas on the problem.

Not sure what is going on. Your truck shifts into 2nd then realizes it needs to down shift to keep going. The same happens on the track if you launch to lightly. The truck will shift into 2nd, then once you go WOT it will downshift back into 1st. Tow/haul mode will keep the truck in gear longer under normal driving which will help you on the incline. I wonder if your throttle cable or kick-down cable needs to be tightened?

I appreciate the responses. All of it is helpful. The tech that did the work is very thorough and I trust him. I am going to check the simpler things as you mentioned but I am leaning more towards the valve body, kinda what my gut is telling me on this.

Sorry to others for taking this thread in another direction. The SCT is great buy the way. I flashed back to stock and can really notice the difference.

Someone asked if the fan kicked on earlier. Yes, since I have a 172 stat and the tune is set for more fan, it does kick on earlier but it has not been a problem so far. Of course it has not been over 65 degree in Missouri yet. I would guess when it reaches 100 degrees with 99% humidity this July it might get a little annoying. We will see.

And for the guys discussing the other issues; that is what this forum is for. I hope you find quick, easy and affordable solutions.
