Sct tuner question

Ok, I've been trying to figure this out and I guess from previous threads I might actually understand. Just need confirmation.

I just recently purchased a sct from a vtcoa member. Other than sct tuner for sell, works perfectly, tuned by unleashed, nothing else was stated and honestly nothing else was asked. We both have the same vehicle 05 QC.

Now, I recieved the tuner, tried to program it but it gave me the wrong vehicle return to stock.
Does this mean, the tuner was never returned to stock and and is locked? If this is the case what can I or we do? Can it be returned to him, he plugs it in, returns to stock and everything would be ok? ships back and i try again? Or is it a bit more complicated than this?

I think his truck has to be put back to stock to unlock it. Than it should work in your truck . I could be wrong though

Is SCT programmers locked to VINs maybe?
