sea foam question

Y u just didn't drive your truck Somewhere just out of town and did that ...

Yea i did that afterwords..lol. After the 2 min smoke show i drove around beating the hell out of it and it was still pouring out..lol.

Perfectly normal. Forgot to mention that Seafoam is also a good way to check for exhaust leaks.

Haha!! Seafoam at work.

That being said, the fact i could see it from the engine bay and abit under the truck...does that mean i have an exhaust leak somewheres?

all tht smoke is suposed to be carbon deposits on the top end??? holy shit man.

btw what kind of exhaust u got, headers? sounds good, does it always pop like that or does that come fro the seafoam?

All i have is a magnaflow catback and thats it and it does pop on decel, its not from the sea foam. Is that normal? I know my bike did that before i removed the smog pump.

Notice a difference? throttle response? Idle? Anything?

And if smoke was coming out around engine bay you'd probably have small leaks somewhere. Probably from your manifolds.

And that thing smokes lots!! Just did it to a 2001 blazer with 150,000 miles on it and didn't smoke nearly as much. Was kind of disappointed.

Guess I shouldve recorded mines as well. I ran a can in the gas tank Friday night, i poured a bottle in the oil (will change in a few days) and I put a bottle in the vacuum line. Didnt smoke as much as i thought it would. Smoked a bit when i cranked it up. Smoked a goot bit for the first 1/8 of a mile. When i got on the main back road highway smoked a little. But i drove it around for most of the time so maybe thats why it didnt smoke as much or it did have that much carbon built up inside.

It idles alot smoother now and little lower. The exhaust tone is a little lower as well and smoother. As for performance, someone said i may loose abit of power till it goes through the system and burns off, i noticed that. When i went onto the road the truck didnt feel as powerful as it normally does.

Oh and i was just outside getting things ready for the oil change. My neighbours were like "whats wrong with the truck" i said nothing and he was like "huh, then you know nothing about engines, if your engine is blowing out smoke like that, you shouldnt be reving it" I said "kinda seems like you know nothing about engines, cuz when you put sea foam through your engine your suppose to rev the engine" then he started a big story about how sea foam is bad for the engine, that you should never put anything in it besides oil....blah blah blah...

How much do your guys' truck shake at idle? I know these trucks don't idle perfectly smooth but wondering whats normal for them. My shift knob also vibrates at idle...

Yea mine vibrates abit, thats something i was talking to my buddy the other day at work. One of the Ford F-150's the army rents from a company came back from the field so my buddy drove it down to the wash bays and once we were done i jumped in and was about to drive back. I didnt know it was running the thing is so quite and no vibrations at all.

But when i was doing the sea foam and hitting the throttle leaver, the truck was rocking back and forth...lol.

haha yeah the tourque will do that... my needle stays perfectly still just the truck shakes a bit. and never consistant really so just assumed it was something with the cam or something.

Mu truck doesnt shake much at idle at all. But there is a sweet spot some where when im going bout 15 to 20 that makes something in the back seat rattle a little. Probably need to move the jack in another position. But its pretty smooth at idle.

Checked it today, my truck idles steadily between 500 and 750 RPMs. Pretty smooth to me nothing out of the ordinary. Umm the only thing i noticed a little weird was when i saw a lil short vid that my wife recorded on her phone when i first cranked it up smoke seemed to only come out of one tail pipe.

Maybe when i was driving it was coming out of both tail pipes. But when i first cranked the truck up i only saw smoke coming out of one tail pipe for about 15 seconds then i got in to drive.

Is that weird? I have true duals on my truck and no exhaust leaks.

Like i said my tach never moves... but the truck shutters.

But yeah its it's suppose to be coming out both banks. You use the big vacuum line on driver side?

when u say shutter, do u mean it vibrates then gives a shutter then vibs then shutters? Mine does that every now and then and the wide band wiill either go abit rich or lean...usally lean, around 15.5+

where did u put it again? Maybe it didnt work its way over to the one side of the engine yet.

I ran a can in the gas tank friday night (went for about a 3 to 4hr ride). Saturday afternoon i poured a can in the oil (since i am about to change it in a few days) Then i poured a can in plastic cup and let the truck suck it out of the cup and right when it finished i had my wife turn the truck off.

When i first cranked it, it was coming out of one side of the tail pipe. I couldve came out of both pipes while i was driving but no where near as much smoke as yours.

Yeah big vacuum line on the driver side. The bigger line to the bottom left of the booster.

I guess kind of... When your sitting in it she just kid of shutters. Feels kinda like a cam lobe kind of. It always does it at idle.

lmao, a guy I work with in Recce (Recon for you americans), lives 2 blocks over from me, he seen all the smoke the other day, he thought something caught on fire..lol
