Me and dusterjohn traded seatbelts for my harnesses, however when I was installing the seatbelts the driver side went smooth, then when I got to the passenger side I found this. It is supposed to plug into the module to allow the seatbelt to release I believe but it is broken. Where would I get another one of these or could I bypass it or what?

Thanks,

Your dealer would be the first place. I bet though you will have to buy the whole unit. Dont bypass nothing on the seat belt system as all the safety equipment (airbags, belts) work together. You could cause yourself serious injury in a minor accident. Your seat belt system actually has explosives in it...you dont want it going off at teh wrong time..:(

If I have to buy the whole unit im going to sacrifice something, you should be able just to buy the plug and splice it in. I just went to the pick n' pull and they didn't have any newer dodges. I refuse to buy a whole new assembly..

wait the connector i have is the one that comes off the buckle under the seat. Is that the connector for the reel? If so all this is for the seat belt to tighten a lil bit more at the time of impact. Just plug it in and put a ziptie around it and that should be good.

Damnit Dom!! It is the connector that plugs into the seatbelt module where the seatbelt winds up at. It doesn't work even when I hold it in place, the plug doesn't work at all. And the seatbelt wont come out of the spool, it's looked in place until I can plug that sensor in.

Sensors work based on voltage...when you splice the wires you can change resistance.....the seatbelt system is part of a comprehensive safety package...changing one part of the package could cause failure in an emergency situation....I ran into the same issues changing the seats on my 06....couldnt get any help from Chrysler engineers..they would refuse to discuss any modifications to the safety systems on the truck due to liability issues..

I'm just gonna wait for the local pick n' pull to get a newer dodge in there so I can go get me the sensor and splice it in.
