I love my truck......BUUTTT I am seeing some rock bottom prices on Vipers as we head into the winter. Lower than I have ever seen them. If I'd only known they would drop this low I would have waited and not bought the truck. I can pick up a 98 GTS for 37K right now. :rock:

The only reason I would ever part with the Silver beast is to buy a Viper GTS. It has alway been my dream car and it would be the ultimate of vehicles for me. Now I could buy one if I sold my truck. :dontknow:

Dazed and confused. What should I do? :confused:
 
It's pretty obvious that you won't be satisfied until you get a GTS. Go for it, man. You deserve it! Just sell me all the aftermarkets on your truck, first. :rock:
 
I'm in the same situation. I love the truck but still want to get back in a Viper (had an '01 GTS). I cant get away from V10 power so its the truck or Viper. The biggest problem is getting a fair price for your/our trucks. If a fair price were offered I'd probably do it...otherwise I'll stick with the truck until the price comes along.

1. Get whatever makes you happy. Life is too short to do anything else.
2. You might take a beating on your truck. So you have to decide how much of a loss (if any) can you take on the truck. Might be in your best interest to wait a little while longer.
 
i had a black 04 srt and sold it to buy a viper. tho i loved it i have to say for some reason the truck was more special and i got more enjoyment from it so sold the viper and bought an 06 ram.
everyones different tho and if youve always wanted one then you prob should buy one or you will always regret it!
 
You might want to wait. My opinion is once all the SRT trucks are finally bought up the price should start going back up some….

I LOVE the GtS when the put the wide ass rims on the back with a huge lip and stagger the front. There is a guy on the alley named BUSA SLAYER and he has a red GTS thats done perfect in my opinion. Some of those guys are selling their TT'd vipers with60 and 67mm turbos and getting T88's! Twin 88mm turbos are HUGE! When I did my build I was looking into a single 101mm turbo but stuck with the Paxton. If I got a Viper I would LOVE to look into TT'ing that bitch....TWIN 101mm turbos!! 2500 hp!
 
I'm in the same boat,sort of. Two weeks ago I bought a 97 GTS blue with white stripes. Now not sure what to do with the truck:dontknow: Have already put 1500 miles on the car and less than 50 on the truck. Still a hoot to drive but, if I sold it could dump some of that $$ into the Viper.Hmmmm Anyone looking for a Black 04?
 
Same situation here. I l-o-v-e the GTS Vipers. Though it would have to be black, sapphire, or silver w/ NO stripes, and black interior (Don't care for that connelly:p ).

I've found a few that would fit the bill, but I think the truck would have to go if I bought one. I can't see having both as I already don't drive the truck that much, and if I had both, I'd never drive the Viper.:confused:

Also been looking at ZO6's. Found a nice '06 for $69K - Truck would definitely have to go.
Then considered an '03/'04 C5 ZO6. You can pick up a really nice one for ~$35K, but the more I think about it, the more I realize they are everywhere! I mean, when is the last time you really gawked when a Vette drove by?:dontknow: Yeah, me either.

Finally, I think about fitting in a Viper. I'm 6'4" and 250lbs. (Most likely more during and after the Holidays!;) ) Hell, I could gain an extra 100lbs. and still be comfortable in the truck:rock:, Which I WON'T be doing, but I know that won't work with a Viper.

Then I think about the obvious - I ain't gonna live forever!

WTF should I do?????:dontknow: :dontknow: :dontknow: Maybe just stop sleeping and pick-up another Full-Time job so that I could afford both the truck and the Viper, and a ZO6 for sh!tz and giggles. I'd just never have time to drive any of 'em!:(

I think if I could get $32-33K for my truck, 7,800 miles, all bolt-ons and stock parts included, I'd sell and go find that Viper.
I figure within a year I'd regret this decision, but ya only live once!

There will always be Viper Trucks for sale and great deals on them........

Viper cars are very reasonable at that price.........

I got the truck for it's bed and carrying capability....Result: RAM SRT-10.

There are several things that push me to keep the truck. These include racing (road and drag) cars and beating some of them as well as having a better feel for the trucks capabilities at the road coarse (when it will let go gripping the track). I didnt get a good feel for the limits of the Viper and its adhesion to the road coarse or any feedback as to when the backend might come around.

The truck is less expensive insurance-wise and more practical for daily drives for where I live.

Did I mention thats its fun beating/playing with cars half my weight and watching the owners face when I'm on their a$$ on a roadcoarse? Oh yah, I think I did. Given how much time/money/mental anguish I've spent on it in the long run it will be cheaper and much more fun to drive.

I just cant pull the trigger to sell it given the above reasons plus the hit I'd take selling it. I'll never get the almost 20K I spent to get the replacement motor and Paxton re-installed so keeping it would be the less of the 2 evils.

I think I just talked myself into keeping it :)
 
Get Both!

I love my 99 GTS, 1 of 22 with Silver and blue stripes. bought it with 7500 miles this last January. Bought the my SRT-10 Ram 2 mo ago. :rock:

I actually went as far as sending pics over to autotrader.com this afternoon to list mine for sale. As I waited for the pics to make it over (took over 5 minutes) I kept thinking about what I would get next and would it be as fun and relatively inexpensive as what I already have and could I afford any more in payments. Before the pics made it over I closed the browser, NO DEAL!! I'm still keepin her.
 
Also, I am kicking around the idea of getting a 06 Black w silver stripe coupe. I do not have room for another one, I might be testing the waters with mine here soon.

We will see, the car I have now is a very rare combo.
 
I saw an add for a 2001 sapphire/silver stripe GTS ACR last night...got my blood flowin'. 11800 miles but no price listed. I e-mailed them about it but havent heard back. 49 were produced with acr/black interior combo. Then I run into the "not driving it because its rare" condition all over again as well as mileage. Thats why I sold my previous GTS. I'm so confused.
 
If it's your only ride, you can't beat the versatility of the truck. I considered buying a 94 back in 2002, but the worry of parking it in front of a Food Lion to get groceries was too much. Vipers are so much more of a toy. Ever strap a couch to the roof of a Viper? :confused:

well not to be mean or anything but must be nice to have to worry about if you can get a GTS or sell your truck. Yes I have a 06 truck, but I am currrently working in Iraq, and you never know if you will make it through the next day or not. Not just me, but anyone who is here, especially the soldiers. Be thankful, you can buy a GTS because some of the soldiers who die, only make about $20K a year to protect the way we live.

So you can sell the trucks, but Vipers, but respect and appreciate what you have. Thank a soldier who has been in combat...
