Well, we finally bit the bullet and bought a new Corvette. Now our Z06 needs to find a new home. Man, we need another garage...
Give me a shout if you or someone you know is looking.
37,xxx miles on the clock
Torch red w/ torch red 2-tone interior
STS twin turbo kit, 42lb injectors, intercooler, etc.
Cat-less mid pipe
Carbon fiber air bridge
Approx. 525 rear wheel horsepower
Cross-drilled and slotted rotors w/ performance pads
Heavy gauge ceramic coated tunnel plate by LAPD
Stage 2+ clutch
New clutch slave cylinder
RPS segmented flywheel
Remote clutch bleeder
Transmission by Jennings Performance, Dallas, TX (Includes upgraded syncros, shift forks, hard parts, etc. All hard parts cryo-treated).
All clutch/trans work done within the last 3000 miles.
Aftermarket C6-style wheels (18†front, 20†rear)
The exterior is very good, and shows minimal wear and tear. There are the usual rock chips, but most if not all have been touched up. You have to get pretty close to find the flaws, and even then, they are quite minimal. There is one small rock chip in the windshield, high and toward the passenger side, which is not visible while driving. The rest of the glass is excellent, and has been tinted. Wheels are in decent shape but have a bit of pitting, and one has a small area of curb rash. At the buyer’s option, the stock gray Z06 wheels (w/ some rash) and tires can be put on the car (stock rear tires are down to the wear bars, fronts are about half). The tires on the car are about 70-80%. The car also has front frame rail skid wheels, and side frame rail protectors. We have added carbon fiber details on the A-pillars, tinted front turn signal covers, and screens on the rear valance.
The interior is in excellent condition, very clean, only the passenger seat shows any signs of wear (the driver’s seat is perfect). The stock shifter has been replaced with the C6 Z06 shifter and custom leather boot.
The aftermarket audio system is optional, and can be returned to stock for the lesser of the asking prices. All equipment was professionally installed using plug-in adapters, so nothing was hacked. System includes a Pioneer CD head unit with iPod connect (cable is in the center console) and removable face, very nice Focal separates in doors and coaxials in the back, Kicker sub in stealth box, Kicker sub amp with the level control conveniently hidden in the ash tray compartment. All told about $3,500.00 was spent. It’s a very well balanced system, designed for quality of sound rather than high volume (still plays plenty loud for us!).
The car runs and drives just like a stock Z06 until you hit boost on the turbos or hit the brakes. With the cat-less mid-pipe, it makes it fairly loud and raw sounding. At the buyer’s choice, the stock one can be put back. This car has been a joy and a rush to drive.
The car has a couple of minor issues of note. The C6 Z06 shifter never quite settled into a perfectly centered position, so it periodically kicks out of gear when you first put it in reverse (and only reverse). I like this shifter so much more than the stock one that it hasn’t mattered to me. I have a stock shifter available if desired. The computer throws a code for an air pump (subsequent to the turbo install), but it otherwise has no effect whatsoever on the car. Also, every so often the display will pop up with a service ABS or active handling message. These systems are working perfectly, and I even went so far as to replace the ABS module two years back just in case. Lastly, the right rear tire has a very slow leak around the bead (just want to be thorough about the description).
If you are interested, PM me with your email address if you would like high resolution photos. If you want to know how it runs, have Dale (Tinygiants) come over and get the crap scared out of him for you.
Asking $27k with the aftermarket stereo, or $25k with the stock stereo.
Also, I'd be interested in a part trade for a well-built LSx engine. Going to be building a Factory Five Racing GTM soon.
Thanks! -RFH
