Shell Gasoline

I while back I asked what brand of Gas everyone uses. Many use Shell. This weekend during the Nascar race the commercial says now with Nitrogen. Has anyone run a tank yet? The gas station here just got that blend and I have not filled up.

I know they use it here for air in the tires but for Gas?

Use VP once in awhile too, have one right down the street. but at 12 bucks a gallon for 114 octain, I cant aford to use it every fillup.

Nitrogen is typically used as a blanket in some chemical containers to prevent moisture. I'm assuming the the use of nitrogen in gasoline has similar characteristics.

Heard an oil guy say one time that he used all of the major brands because each had a little different additive, and that all of them helped so his approach was to get the positive effects of each...:dontknow: :dontknow:

I have Shell in my tank now...I read the nitrogen stuff while pumping...I cant tell any difference in how the truck runs.........but I normally buy Sunoco because they only buy American crude oil instead of that mohammed stuff..

on the 4th tank of Shell N here. only thing i have noticed is that after a hard pull she wants to idle down a bit. not sure of the cause. coincidence????

i get the best gas mileage from texaco and chevron....and i check every time i fill up (for people like larry's sake!)

According to the commercial the nitrogen acts as a cleaning agent. Sort of like Oxyclean. Cleans the valves of carbon deposits etc.
Now if they could just find a way to put nitrous oxide in the gas they'd have something.

I have a tankfull and have noticed nothing. Prolly all marketing hype IMO.
