I just got my vec III back from sean last week. I was without it for about 6 weeks and during that time I didn't drive the truck. So needless to say once I got it put back on I have been driving the crap outa it:D I have noticed the last two days that under WOT I miss 2nd and 3rd and never had that problem before:dontknow: Also when driving normally when I shift it takes the rpm's a little bit to fall. I was wondering if my stock clutch was finally giving way?:dontknow: If so I have the centerforce setup awaiting install:elefant:

Oh, and I finally got some pics of the truck I will post up later for you guys:D

How many miles do you have Kyle? With all your mods your truck is putting down a lot more power than when stock. The stock clutch and hydrolics just cant handle it. Mine went out at 3k miles and my only mods were catback and intake.

You will love the feel of the power transfer the centerforce accomplises vs the stock clutch. With the 4.88 gears I would stick with the stock flywheel as your rpms come up fast already. You are planning the viper master/slave upgrade as well arnt you?

patrick

To check the clutch run in fourth gear at 40 mph...romp on the throttle...you will know if it is slipping...if the engine races but the truck doesn't...

I didn't see that you are boosted...if you are, do the procedure very carefully...under boost the engine will go ballistic very quickly...

Thanks for your response patrick;) My truck has 4700 miles on it. I have the clutch and flywheel waiting I still need to get the viper master/slave though.

I'll give that a try this afternoon;)

Okay this shifter is starting to piss me off:mad: Tried again today shifting from 2nd the 3rd at about 5500rpms and missed everytime:dontknow: I don't think my clutch is bad. Could it be the pistol grip shifter be messing me up:D Maybe I just SUCK:eek: :D

Put the Ball back on and try shifting using the palm of your hand open, just resting on the shifter.

The tendency is to push to hard to the right which will put you in 5th or even reverse!! Remenber, you don't have to push hard, there is a centering spring that will pull it to the middle so only a little more pressure to the right will do the trick!!

Good Luck!!

I agree with Marc. The T handle fights against the gate entry with the Gen IV, the ball allows the lever to rotate slightly towards the gate...since putting the Gen IV in (about a year ago) I have not missed third.

Great points............go back to the ball for sure!!

Dude when you get the new clutch/flywheel/hydrolics in..............your gonna love the new found power.............its a huge difference IMO.

I had the same problem all the time, it went away completely after I swapped master/slave cylinders with the viper unit.
