shifting

is there anything to help smooth the shift out in the 6 speed? ive had an x-metal shifter in for about a year, its better and i can get 3rd gear but its still a little notchy. is the new gen x-metal shifter better? is it worth replacing my current x-metal shifter?

I have the first gen x metal shifter as well. Mine works awesome compared to the stocker. Is yours mounted on the drivers side of the bottom piece and at the lowest setting? If I remember correctly that would be the smoothest setup.

Well there is the current design which is the one he has been selling for a year I think. His first design came out 2 years ago.

Not sure. I have heard from several gen 1 owners whom upgraded that its totally different. It has a twist action from second to third. Some like it, some dont. For me, I am happy with what I have.

i like the shifter just dissappionted with the notchy feel. when im gettin on it i cant shift as quick as the clutch hits the floor due to the notching.

Weird? Maybe some of the mechanic members will chime in and offer their assistance. I wonder if its not a slave/master issue or maybe air in the lines issue. Those two things seem to clear up most of the problems.
