recently upgarded my truck centerforce fidanza flywheel viper slave and master been having all kinds of hell! do i need to shim the slave if so where do i get shims? i pulled the tranny out tonight and bench bled the slave per boomers post, and still nothing getting frusrtated. its engagiing all the way down (clutch all the way depressed in first gear i give it gas and it moves) any help thanks all of you!

Sorry I cant answer that very well........... I know the master cylinder shim gives you the proper pedal placement. The slave shim must be the one that is causing you that problem. Some of our West Coast members need to chime in.

its really been bumming me out, ill get it figured out i talked with justin a little today but he was in and out of service! i am never taking a thing to the local dealership again!

Dude, dont get too upset, this if very simple install. I actually had my dealer do the install and it went very well.

Did you dealer do your install and they f#cked it up? In the morning call Roe Racing or one of the other guys and you will get the answers you need. Dave at Roe was very helpful to me several times and easy to reach on the phone.

thay did the install was fine for about a week then went out took it back there they had it for two weeks didnt do anything so i picked it up today and dropped the tranny bled the slave put it back together and its doing the same thing! that was a run on sentance if ive ever seen one:) but there was definately no shims where the slave goes:dontknow:

Gotcha. I bought my clutch upgrade from Roe two years ago. Dave installed the shim into the slave so my dealer couldnt get anything wrong. I told them where the master shim was to go and they got it correct.

I would call Dave @ Roe in the am on Friday. They are in FL so I would call real early so maybe they could FED X it to you fast and get this issue over with.

Sucks paying good money and the shit isnt done correct the first time! I understand your frustration.

Shims will not help this problem!! It will only fix the peddle height issue.

My truck was shimmed using washers, It has been that way for over 25,000 miles, no problems!!

Be sure you are bleeding the system corectly, you may want to call Boomer on this one!!

Thats the shim for the master, he needs the shims for the slave?

Yes you need shims for the slave cylinder, it is .25" on the slave. Some have used washers, carrier/differential shims...but I prefer the machined shim from one of our vendors. (make sure you order 2 of the 1/8..some have gotten away with just an 1/8, but 1/2 seems to be working better).

Main thing is to bleed these trucks...I can emphasize more! Bleed bleed and bleed....these trucks are very picky when it comes to air in the line.

we cnc a spacer for both the slave and the master, and its included with our clutch kits. the slave MUST have this shim installed on it. the input shaft dimensions are unique to the ram truck. the truck has whats called a 90-10 tranny from Tremec, and its the truck version of the T-56, the gears, shafts and yoke are all different than the Viper

The only problem I have with my local dealer install of my set up is the pedal height. Boomer included the proper shim in the package but I suppose the tech didn't install it. I have to go back down there now and find out what happened.

Marc T, you said you used washers to adjust your pedal height? Do you have any pictures of your install? If the stealership shrudges their shoulders about the shim Boomer sent then I may have to go the washer route. Unless I can get the dimensions from Boomer? I can likely have one made.
