I took my truck in for some warranty work and one the of items to be fixxed was the paint that came off under the wing. The service department had to call a dodge rep in to look at the paint. Basically they denied the claim and said the wing was not meant to be taken off because it was a safty item on the truck. Are you serious? I then asked the service advisor why dodge gave the owner tools to remove the wing and brackets to move the wing toward the cab and the guy did not even know the truck came with those items.

I'm screwed so I just touched the paint up with touch up paint. I just thought you guys would get a kick out of the safety issue. On my checkout sheet it actually says declined by chrysler- spoiler is a safety item not designed to be removed. Phoooey. Merry Xmas all.

That's bull$hit.....the salesman, when I bought my RC, showed me the tool and explained how to remove it if I wanted to carry stuff in the bed....what a load of crap....

Silly indeed - like you said, tools are provided for just that purpose, removing the wing.

I guess if they had to deny something, this is minor compared to some of the crazy things dealers are denying warranty work on (engine & tranny failures, broken radios, etc).

what a big load  .....I would have drilled him with questions on why tools were provided, and requested someone else, or have gone to another dealership. I guess if its not that big of a deal to you, then just don't waste the effort, but if its a big deal, get on the phone and make some calls!

Its terrible when the back there way out of something so obvious and non-negotiable.....oh well :(

You should have told them that since the wing isn't supposed to come off, then you would like to sue them for leaving tools and screws in your glove compartment....it caused you psychiatric trauma :D

I am assuming your are not willing to get this fix under warranty? First of all, they provide the tools to remove it. Second, the wing comes into play at pretty hi speeds and not day to day driving or normal highway speeds so their safety argument is out the window.

If I was you I would take them to arbitration. It wouldn't cost you that much.

And by all means post who this dealer is to avoid anyone else to go thru this experience.

I have heard a lot of silly things said at dealerships by service personal that will peg your bull-shit-o-meeter..........

wow thats a load of crap!!!!!!!!! i also have the same problem i plan on bringing it to the dealership soon. ill let you know how i made out.

Yeah, that is serious bullshit and I am sure you could prevail, but it would probably take more time and effort than it is worth. Guess they are pinching pennies to try to make up all those millions they are losing due to piss poor management.

I had a similar problem with the warranty on my motorhome but all I had to say was that I had an appointment with my attorney on thursday at 1:00pm (which I actually did) and they fixed it without incident!!!!

I told the service advisor I would not be bringing my truck back to that dealership and how disappointed I was in the service all around. Whats sad is the other dealership that I don't want to deal with can't rotate tires on a dually correctly, previous truck I owned, whats that say about a dealership?

I paid $2200.00 for a extended warranty from dodge on my truck and I'm thinking about canceling it to save myself future headaches and just fix the damn thing myself if something breaks.

I really like dodge trucks and have owned them for years, but to me a vehicle is not much without good service. I probably will never buy another dodge product due to the bad service I have received over the past 5 years.

I should make a stink about the wing, but I don't have the time to deal with it and its not visable, even though thats not the point. They fixxed all the other items except my squeaky brakes and I was told dodge does not replace brakes anymore because they squeak or dust. WTF I say what ever happened to good service?
