Still can't figure this. Anyone shed some light?

06 QC. Stage 2 flash K/N Drop in 172 Stat. Always runs at 172 no matter where or what.

05 RC. Has Flash( fan mod) and 172 Stat also. Always runs up to 200.
Only drops to 172 on Highway in 6th. (This was before exhaust and SC mod
now runs a tad hotter!)

Cant understand why the QC runs consistantl cooler than the RC. BTW yes the fan is running on both!:dontknow: :dontknow: :dontknow: :dontknow: :dontknow: :dontknow: :dontknow:

THAS FUNNY....
MY 06 QC W/ X METAL PCM... RUNS 200 ALL DAY LONG AND NIGHT.. EXCEPT FOR WEATHER UNDER 65 AND DRIVING ON HIGHWAY...

MY 06 RC W/ DC PCM RUNS 170 EVERYWHERE ANYTIME....

Yes thats very interesting. So at least its not vehicle specific.?

MY 06 R/C runs @ 170 all the time
Wife's 06 Q/C runs @ 170 all the time

Both have the DC stage II :D

It looks like the DC turns on the fan sooner than the B&G or Xmetal. I have the B&G with the 170 thermo and it still hits 200.

My DC that was shipped from B&G with a B&G sticker on it runs about 180 all the time in FL.
Not sure what exact temp it is as my gauge is not as specific as some apparently but it is way under 200.

I read that there is a difference between the DC and B&G flash. At one time B&G did DC's flashes for them but they were still proprietary for DC. You could not order your flash from B&G and get the DC flash. At least that's the way I think I remember how it went. Don't know if DC is doing their own flashes now or not.

Which PCM Upgrade is best?
I have had many questions about our PCM upgrades and how they compare to others on the market, I would like to clarify the differences between these and why I feel the DC Performance and Mopar Connection Calibrations offer many advantages over the rest.

There are only a few companies that actually program these controllers in house. DC Performance and B&G are the top two. If you are buying a calibration from a vendor, most likely it comes from one of these two. I think what sets DC Performance apart from everyone else is that we test and tune all of our calibrations in house on the dyno and on the track. All of our calibrations are done in house except for our Stage 2 Quad Cab calibration which we worked in conjunction with B&G on. These are done by B&G but can only be bought through DC or the Mopar Connection if you want the highest performance.

Besides our standard calibrations for all SRT models we offer race gas and custom calibrations for race cars and engines with cam, head, and injector changes. With your information we can tune your controller to your car.
For those with supercharged or turbocharged engines, we have calibrations that can really help.

We also offer custom tuning of your truck on our dyno.

Please feel free to call us if you need help. We can provide new controllers or program yours.

Dude your Lucky. My Qc with a 170 T stat never runs at 172 Constant. Sometimes I have gone to 210:dontknow:

MY QC TOO... SPECIALY WHEN I'M PULLING MY TRAILER..... OR WHEN A GO FULL TROTLE... IT GOES TO 210 AND 220 OIL TEMP.... THAT S$%#

My DC/B&G flash is not recommend to pull trailers with so I change it to the stocker if I am gonna pull something very big .
Jet ski =ok
7000lb = stock PCM

When its really hot and positively stagnant out here (like 110+), mine will around 205-215 if I am stuck in slow-n-go traffic, I can gear both fans (engine and electric) just whiring away...

But once I get moving she drops well into low 190s.

If its a nice warm average day here (80s), it will run 190 sitting, and around 170ish when I am moving along... sometimes a tad cooler if its a exceptionally cool night here (like in the 60s)

my truck used to run 200-215 in the really hot days

added DC Stage II w/172 Tstat , then it never exceeds 180 , and its hot these days here (30 degrees C )

It's interesting. I actually emailed DC recently about the fan setting on their Stage II flash and they replied that it keeps operating temps only about 10 degrees cooler than stock. This would keep their results in line with the flashes from other vendors.

However, in practice, it seems a lot of DC clients are reporting much lower coolant temps, i.e. never exceeding 180 degrees, even sitting stationary in traffic. Perhaps more DC flash users and Dan Cragin himself could comment on this directly?

Other Flash programmers have maintained in the past that more agressive fan settings will overtax the stock system. Just interesting as most of us would like a bit cooler temps if possible.

In my humble opinion:

1. Gauges vary wildly...

2. There is nothing wrong with a 200 degree running temperature.

3. Sixth gear seems to solve all temperature problems.
