Simple Politeness: Post "hoe'ing"

Thank You D. (Silent)

I think the shoe fits me all to well. I will be more diligent at looking at the origin of the thread before I chime in
I am the worst  So I will have to wear Kryptonite underwear  :dontknow:

I was gonna say the same thing....I cant stand trying to read and talk to someone and all of a sudden there are these "Post-Ho's" everywhere.:(

:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

I'm guilty, not as guilty as Krazy, but guilty...its so hard to stay on topic...my mind simply ranges far afield when some very straight lines hit me in the wrong way!

I will try...try hard...but please forgive me if I suffer from recidivism from time to time...

It's sooooo hard...and nothing else ever gets that way.

I'm not ho-ing.....I am just Krazy. :)

Plus, I typically try not to ruin a nice thread....but, I am sorry. It happens sometimes.:)

Recently I've noticed that the forum has become fraught with impudence.

Like children butting in when the adults are talking, many of us have been guilty of chiming into topics in the most innane manner... (with comments that are just downright off the wall.......You know....silly and meaningless)....It's as if some members consider this a "free for all" or chat room rather than more of a "bulletin board" as it is intended (to be).

This juvenile brand of "ho'ing" really is a detrament to our forum and family here.....

The reason for this behavior may simply be that this family is so accepting of one another that we feel more welcome to "jump in" whenever we want to.... And while our great family atmosphere makes this more understandable, I submit that this behavior is both rude and disruptive ......

Let's offer more courtesy to others and "butt out" of conversations in which we have NOTHING to contribute and confine our blatherings to the Post Ho, F Word, or Bullshit threads where they belong....

Whadd'ya say, kids....? :dontknow: ......Let's show some class..........

D
Awesome.
Tip of the iceberg, but it's awesome.
Thanks Tim!

Blow me Kevan.....You complain to damn much anyway....I like the bright Idea that you had about removing the post count and that would be the cure all for Hoing.......Hopefully your memory is not as short as other things :D :p Once they did that on the other site, prolly because of your incesant bitching about the same thing it got worse, far worse if you remember correctly :D I know cause I spearheaded the assault ;) :D Really guys there are far more important issues in life to deal with......

I don't mean any disrespect Kevan as you and I have been friends a while. But talk about beating a dead horse to death :D I and others have agreed to tone it down a notch........But this subject keeps popping up every 8 months or so and it's almost as annoying as the does that thing have a Hemi question. Scroll past the posts you don't like or place them on ignore ;) It's really that easy Bro :D Every site on the planet has Ho's and some of you need to get a grip...Once again I apologize if I offend you by this post...Mikey

Hey, no disrespect taken and I've been online so long it's almost impossible to offend me.

I'm not bitching at all. Other people are: "The site is down", "The site is slow", et. al. Didn't see me start any of those threads.

What I did do, however, was offer solutions to those problems.

If you guys want to chat, get an instant message program. There are dozens out there, and almost all of them have chatrooms or group settings. That saves everyone bandwidth (and scrolling). There's a great new Flash-version of the chatroom for this forum software. I'm sure if you asked Patrick nicely, he'd get it up and running for ya.

The problem with "ignore" is that once in a while someone on your ignore list will post a bit of worthwhile information. Besides, with a board full of friends, it doesn't seem right to put anyone on ignore.

Not all online forums have Post Ho's. I can tell you for a fact that ProjectGuitar.com's forum has none.
Wanna see a kickass forum with zero ho's? Check out SevenString.org. Sign up there and have a look around. No nudity, but it's loaded with awesome people, focused and having fun all at the same time. The forum features and customizations are pretty damn nice as well.

I get it: this is a sandbox and Jack and Patrick let us do what we want. Anarchy is a neat concept, but as evidenced by the last few weeks here, it doesn't work every time.
If Jack and Patrick want it to remain like this, that's up to them. I've offered my technical help many times. They have my number.
To the rest of you, if you'd like tips on how to become a better forum poster, let me know. I'm glad to help.

BTW- I *NEVER* conversed with Ecool. Ever.

Initially I was reluctant in saying anything here because I am unsure if I am butting in on a conversation between adults. Far be it from me to come off as rude and disruptive. I don't know if I'm ever considered to have anything useful to contribute or if I am even taken seriously because I don't get a sizable amount of replies to my posts and threads as much as many others here (an many of THOSE threads generated start off meaningless without following the traditional “bulletin board†style posts). For this reason I am guilty of silly and meaningless "off the wall" comments to TRY and fit in. That’s my little way of being recognized because I’ve discovered that by simply being friendly it isn’t enough for a lot of people here. But what I say in response to some threads serves another purpose that is important to ME. I'm a natural smart ass and whatever flows from my mind (meaningless or not) makes me giggle as I write them so my day may seem that much brighter by being here. Keep in mind that by doing that I am guilty of assuming someone will respond and make me feel as if I am not just some useless rock that's been here for so long (hence the member number). Time and time again I say something only to be overshadowed by a change in topic or my post was the last of a suddenly dead thread. The bottom line is I am frequently ignored for whatever reason (and I KNOW I'm not the only one here feeling that way). If my member number was in the 90's with over 5,000 posts either I’d be guilty of blathering, doing a bit of post ho’ing or have absolutely nothing to do. So which s it? I KNOW Mikey is an admitted post ho as well as Denise.

To many I might sound like a complainer right now (which is totally out of character) and there are some here that I do consider a great person/friend to know and have a phone number for, but I am fed up because once again I am brought to feel as if I don’t belong here… It’s no wonder I disappear for lengthy periods....

Yeah Yeah Yeah.......whatever I got your attention though ;) :D I just had to pick on someone Billy's size since he is having sexual relations and won't p/u his phone :D BTW stop being such a control freak...Not everything wraps up in a tiddy little box ;) At Christmas did you rip the packages open like a maniac or did you gently unwrap those Bastages and save the bow for next year  Anarchy  Really though :dontknow: is that not stretching reality a bit to far..............Please do me the honor of telling me how to be a better poster :D I am all ears ! BTW I would challenge you to come up with another site that is like this on the net..It would be impossible to say the least..Yeah I have seen other forums that are all tight Assed and they suck in my opinion.......You refer to a guitar forum where it's a virtual Nirvana...............just Bitchin for you man.........But are they as tight as we are ? Are they family ? Would one of those guys die for you ? Well I know a number of people here that I would step in front of a bullet for, No questions asked :D They feel the same Bro...So compare this place to any other is a fallacy of ambiguity..........It don't exist ! This place is magic Kevan and you are a good Bro to many here including me and I Love you for it.....but Jack and Patrick run a great site and are very understanding.....I would really hate to see the place taken over by Tight assed Post Nazi's. If that is what people want then there is a nice place that most of us left that regulate the crap outta everything, good thing is you could read the whole days post's in a matter of minutes, with no hoing at all and no personality or life !

Your right Kevan that Krazy Bastage does get annoying :D :D

Well, in my personal opinion....everyone should be allowed to have one. I support the Forum, so therefore I support all of you here. Do I think the Post-Ho'ing is a little out of hand....Maybe. I do think I posted some rules to follow to be a Post-Ho for the new Ho's....we will police our own.

Y'all know I am very passionate about some things here...and I wish I could participate more in the Mods section or the Do-it-yourself section. However, I have very little money and my knowledge of cars extends as far as gassing and going. And I cant even do that right now. :(

If it weren't for this place, I would have nothing to do. Since I get home bone tired from work and I am in a new place. This place keeps my mind from stressing....thats why I Ho. Just my.50 cents.:dontknow: :D

And I know I'm annoying, you've met me in person Mike.:p :p :p
