Now you know why I'm guilty more than most. But, I am smart enough to learn and try to do better. We can only hope the same for others. But I will only name myself

Jeff

Name yourself huh???;) Seems like a long list you got there.... ;) :p

I'm sorry all if I offend anybody by posting on your threads. I cant remember the last time I randomly did it, but if its this big of a deal...I wont ever do it again.;)

In a nutshell: If patrick or anyone else comes on and makes an announcement on a certain topic, it is inappropriate for some one to post a reply that sez, "My weenie's wet"......or "who's up for baloney sandwiches?"..... That's all.

Now this I agree with. And as for the technical threads I don't say anything there because I admit I don't have the ability to contribute useful tech stuff. But does that mean I am ho'ing because I didn't have something valid and useful to contribute? I usually lurk about on the off topic (offensive/non offensive) threads and rarely post on general discussion threads. I'm here to get information that I don't know about and I appreciate what I learn from everyone's posts. The only threads I comment on with useless replies are stories of kills and other unusual events that happen to occur.

To be honest I got upset earlier on this thread because right before I read post #1 I read something else on this forum that appeared as if my input on something didn't count therby placing me in the virtual outcast zone. I certainly would have never treated a new commer that way yet I find myself in that position at times, and I'm member #14, ain't that something? :dontknow: But oh well, I can satisfy some of the people some of the time but never all of the people all of the time. That's L I F E...

Silver... Sickness.. I have you know that you both have always been among those I consider a good friend/person to have a phone number for. There are plenty more that would generate a sizable list here, but of course I wish it were all.:(

D - I shouldn't take what I read here so personal. Please understand as I just said I had a feeling the finger was pointing directly at me and I wasn't sure why. Thanks for clearing this up.:D

Hey! What about me!!!:dontknow: You know, I still remember the first time I met you on here....you were having a difficult time and I made you laugh.

You make people laugh, and we all know that nobody is accusing you of Ho'ing. It's people like me that are being hunted....gotta go, I just heard stinkerz back and he might have a gun!!!:( ;) :p

BTW, youre good stuff Anthony!

Dang it Krazy you're going to make me cry... Nah man you are also remembered. There wasn't enuff time lastnight to mention everyone. I mentioned Silver because I owe him for my always talking about wanting his bristled breasts to scrub my truck if... we... happen to..... get an official VTCoA truck wash going... BUT THAT'S A DIFFERENT STORY SO PRETEND I DIDN'T SAY IT. And Sickness warms my heart when he considers me a golden bastage...lol.... I love all of you no matter what. Some may have differences that are aired and tempers may flare at times but we are still all here as a virtual family and I respect the lot of you...wimper.. OH GOD here I go again with the peeper leakage... I gotta go find some Kleenex before the big Galveston TX cruise... OH STAY TUNED! I will start a thread with lots of pictures...

Hey Y'all,

My purpose in posting this was simple... I apologize if my statement became convoluted.

In a nutshell: If patrick or anyone else comes on and makes an announcement on a certain topic, it is inappropriate for some one to post a reply that sez, "My weenie's wet"......or "who's up for baloney sandwiches?"..... That's all.

How simple can this get....

John, (Silver) Your contribution to the technical aspects of this forum is stellar and to my memory, beyond reproach. And I certainly did NOT have you in mind when it posted it.

It was simply meant to admonish our great crew to knock off the silly blurts and meaningless comments within the context of "non-ho" threads..... This doesn't apply to "Don Ho" threads (haha)...

Just keep the stoopid, innane (off the topic) stuff out'a there.....

Dat be all..........:D

Djangonius

Thanks for the kind words Tim, but I'm still guilty of starting things at times. If I hadn't said what I had said a thread would have stayed on topic.

And don't worry, I'm not feeling picked on or anything like that. Thats actually one of the nice things of being an ape. No feelings, personallity, legs, neck...... Well, you get the idea.:D

Love ya Tim.

And don't forget that we can make a killing at that car wash. People will pay dearly to not have me touch their vehicles. :D

Damn, I just did it didn't I? :dontknow:

Recently I've noticed that the forum has become fraught with impudence.

Like children butting in when the adults are talking, many of us have been guilty of chiming into topics in the most innane manner... (with comments that are just downright off the wall.......You know....silly and meaningless)....It's as if some members consider this a "free for all" or chat room rather than more of a "bulletin board" as it is intended (to be).

This juvenile brand of "ho'ing" really is a detrament to our forum and family here.....

The reason for this behavior may simply be that this family is so accepting of one another that we feel more welcome to "jump in" whenever we want to.... And while our great family atmosphere makes this more understandable, I submit that this behavior is both rude and disruptive ......

Let's offer more courtesy to others and "butt out" of conversations in which we have NOTHING to contribute and confine our blatherings to the Post Ho, F Word, or Bullshit threads where they belong....

Whadd'ya say, kids....? :dontknow: ......Let's show some class..........

Silent D,
Not trying to belittle your point or take anyones side on this because I don't feel that I really fall on one side or the other in this issue.

BUT to the casual reader of the thread, it does seem kind of ironic to me that someone with over 5000 posts would chastise others for ho'ing.

Not trying to speak for Tim, but you have to remember what he was trying to address, and that was the Ho'ing of technical threads. Tim spends a fair amount of time in the threads that were set up for the Ho's, and that is where the majority of his posts come from.

I'm sure he will be waking up here in the next couple hours and can then speak for himself. Just didn't want this to go off on a tangent.

That's a good point Silverback.

My post was just an observation of the first thing I thought when I saw the thread. Not trying to stir anything up. No offense intended D. ;)

Silver came to my defense and answered your question for the most part here. But I can't help perceiving some "physician heal thyself" in your need to make this point. Excuse me if explain myself further. I mean no sarcasm whatsoever.

A) There's a great dissimilarity between my number of posts and the issue of where I post.

B) In my own defense, there's also a difference between quantity and quality.
But again, my posts are made in the proper place...

If someone wanted to take the time to research all my quotes (yuck) I dare say that they would be hard pressed to find a technical thread or a matter of serious nature (in which) I posted something innane (off the wall).

My penchant for wise cracking, wit and sardonic sarcasm is well established.

But for the final bloody time, IT IS NOT (SO MUCH) WHAT YOU SAY AS WHEN AND WHERE YOU SAY IT.

Please everyone, bear in mind that I'm not angry or trying to pick a bone with ANYONE.

I just can't believe that I have to keep repeating the same simple message to this very intelligent group.

I hate to have to quote myself but I will:

I am a post ho (incase anyone hadn't noticed) ;) but I try and respect the technical threads and not ho them up. I think the jist of the problem is with people taking every topic off topic and no one ever gets the answers they were looking for to start with.  :dontknow: :D

I believe the person who starts a thread should be able to "moderate and regulate" their own thread so Jack and Pat don't have to do it. The thread starter could/should go through and delete the unnecessary posts (in the thread starters opinion) so their thread stays on topic. I thought that feature was available for the person starting the thread, but if not, maybe something like that could be implemented to help with the problem. :dontknow:

Another idea might be to charge an extra membership fee for the priviledge of accessing the Technical threads (just like the membership fee now lets us access the arcade and special email and extra pm space, etc) Then if an offending member accesses and posts in that Technical section and it is not in compliance with the "posting rules" (which would be ZERO tolerance for smart remarks, crude comments, going off topic, etc.) they would be banned from posting in that portion of the forum.

I personally believe the only people who would pay "extra" to access the "Technical areas" are probably NOT post hos to start with since most post hos are admittedly and obviously technically challenged :star:

Just my 2.98 worth :D :dancing: :star:
