Just getting off work and thought my eyes were playing tricks on me, but it looks as if my Mopar window deflectors are coming up. Now this is truly a problem, because they are taped on the door.

Should I get them removed permanently? If so, will taking them off with the tape actually remove my paint?

or

Have them replaced? I do have the nerf bars on the bottom. To me having the deflectors balances the look out. But will they always do this? I mean I didn't add the deflectors nor bars, so will I be constantly having to deal with them?

J, remove the deflectors and the nerf bars. You'll love the look. All that stuff just takes away from the beautiful lines of the truck.

The tape should not remove the paint. You can replace the tape by going to Lowes or Walmart and get some more 3M double sided body tape. Then re-apply the wind deflectors to the truck. I'm using the "In Channel" vent visors on my truck because they look more factory.

take a hair dryer, or let it set in the direct sun for a few hours,

you want to heat up the 3m tape holding on the deflector

slowly pull off the deflector, take alcohol and remove the residue

now you can remove the 3m tape from the deflector by jsut taking your time, then put new back on, if so, clean the area really well with alcohol, and make sure the area is good an clean, and a little warm, that way it shouldnt come off for a few years,

most folks tho get aggrivated at this point and toss them, but if applied correctly to a clean warm surface, they will last a good long time

Though the subject wasn't about my nerf bars, I will address them as I have in the past, lol. I am keeping the nerf bars. My fiance has nerve damage, so he needs them to get in and out of the truck. My mother is actually about to have her ankle replaced with a prosthetic, so she needs the bars to get in and out of truck. She loves the truck, so it's not an option for me to take away her love of being in it. I put them before "beautiful lines of the truck." ;)
I was considering taking off the the chrome ones, and replacing them with black ones because I am considering blacking out the truck. Everyone's truck doesn't have to look the same, and everyone isn't going to agree with some of the moves people take with modifications. I can respect that, can you? :dontknow: :dontknow: :dontknow:

That seems very tedious. I see why the dealer quoted me $100 to remove them.

:D my post was just a suggestion, lol:D

Actually I really like ur suggestion, it probably will be what I use. B/c if I get them put back on, it's not going to be on the door b/c I can't stand this tape issue.

Me too! My only complaint is that they are snug enough to the window that when you wash it, you have to roll the windows down to wipe them or you get spots. But I'm kinda anal about some stuff.

Lol, that's not a complaint. So I'm going to agree with u and say u are anal about stuff. Too cute! Hell, I thought u were abt to say water gets in the truck from washing it.
